Better closer, yes. Better rebounder, facilitator, defender no. 3 things that matter for 48 minutes vs 1 thing that matters for 2 minutes.
They wouldn't be a dangerous playoff team at all. They would score less and give up more defensively.
Wade won a championship with worse supporting talent. They would still be a a very good team, might be better.
I think 90 million could buy a decent supporting cast. They have nobody because they have 3 max contracts, not 2. It's the choice they consciously made, they knew 3 max guys was going to leave nothing.

I didn't like the rally or "The Decision" either and thought it was way overdone. But I don't dwell on it.
But you can't take LeBron away without leaving the money there. They would have 2 or three upgrades, perhaps one significant one. They would still be a playoff team easily.
A couple people suggested the Heat would be nowhere without LeBron. That's nonsense. A team with Wade and Bosh in their prime, plus 90 million dollars to suddenly play with, is still a very very good team, elite.
He's MVP because he has insane stats year after year and when you watch him play, it's apparent he's the most talented player to ever live (to me there's no doubt). I get that. But he also is unique among MVP type players in the way he gladly defers at the end of big games and how he basically deferred his career to a player who is a better and more determined finisher. He took one shot in the last four minutes last night and got fouled and missed the two free throws. That's not characteristic of most MVPs we've had. Usually they win that game or go down swinging. It's not like he was driving and dishing during those 4 minutes either...it was just kind of a typical fade out. He still had great 4th quarter numbers, but they were compiled in the first 8 minutes of the 4th.
I'm not even "hating" about it, it just blows my mind that some people don't see it. It was really apparent in the regular season, at least a third of the 4th quarters were "Wade" 4th quarters where he would just hang back and let Wade finish after he had filled stats earlier in the game. He may well end up with a few of titles, but it's clear he's not going to win them in the same season MVP fashion that Kobe, Michael, Bird, Magic, Isaiah and even Dirk won them unless something major changes.

Having LeBron join the Heat has worked out great for Wade. His reputation as a clutch player has grown greatly with him hardly doing anything. What was Wade closing when the Heat couldn't get out in the first round of the playoffs once in the four years before LeBron joined the Heat?
Absolutely. But I don't think they would be a "dangerous" one, and wouldn't compete for a title. Just my 2 cents.
He had the best center in the nba on his team and some other good players. That team was good.
They wouldn't. Wade and Bosh combined for 0 playoff series wins in the four years before they all joined up in Miami. They would be a solid Atlanta Hawk type team, 50 regular season wins, first or second round exit team.
They could trade bron for a dwight howard and some players or a mello and some players. They very easily in theory could be better. Stars dont win championships, teams do. Look at the spurs. They dont have any huge stars and are the best right now because of role players and because of their mix of youth and expierience.
My opinion on Wade is that a lot of his early prowess was due to the way he drew fouls at a record setting rate, and I don't think they were all fouls if you get my drift. The league was in a severe post-Jordan hangover and losing viewership every season. They were impatient to get this new generation of talented superstars to championship level. The last season of productive Shaq and the zebras were enough to get it done. (16 fts in a 4th quarter in the finals for Wade, that's ridiculous)
That said...he is an incredible shot maker, top 3 or 4 in the league, and he is incredibly fearless. LeBron doesn't lack much as a player, but the tiny bit he lacks Wade has. DW had a very streaky game last night where he couldn't miss then couldn't make.
Playing GM, I think pairing Wade and LeBron is a GREAT idea, but the basically 90 million max deal for Bosh would have been much better spent on a deeper team surrounding them. Not a knock on Bosh even, for example if the Bulls had got him instead of Boozer they'd be more dangerous, I just don't know if any three max players will ever be ideal. You'll always be better off with two max guys and 4-5 very good players around them than 3 max guys and just 1-2 good players next to them.
