It would suck to play St Johns again

1st consolation game is at 1:00 tomorrow which sucks again for those of us at work. This is the game we will most likely be in.

I know @isufbcurt doesn't agree, but I can certainly see the organizers creating matchups they want for the final round. I don't know wh we really ISU would fit into that and I wouldn't be surprised by a win or loss on day 3.

I don't believe in conspiracies. Plus its college basketball weird outcomes can happen so you can't really plan for that stuff.

We're not going to play St. John's again -- the rules say (and I don't see why they'd ignore them) that other than the championship and third-place game, they will be avoiding matchups that are happening in the regular season.

So under the scenario where they're not using the pods for seeding 1-4, yeah, we'd likely be playing Alabama or Oregon (whichever wins bigger, essentially) or Notre Dame (if neither wins by more than a few). Iowa State-Alabama would be a crazy good consolation game.

They should be very careful how they do the 3rd round matchups if they want this tournament to be successful and continue on an annual basis.

Let’s be serious fellow Clone fan. Next year there will be 8 B 12 teams including ISU. 32 teams. NIL money for players so it will help ore recruiting. We are all watching.

And we’ll have a quality matchup tomorrow regardless. What matters here is building our resume, not a mythical 3rd place game.
