Pitino to Minnesota....

He will certainly have the lightest resume in the Big 10. Minn is really counting on his last name.

There is a good talent base, he is coaching at a high-major school, and being Pitino's son will get him in the living room of recruits, so I doubt he fails miserably. That said, I would be surprised if he has them competing with OSU, IU, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, and Maryland.

The realist in me says to include U of I on that list as well. Fran may have himself a good team next year.

How do you know the truth behind these stories?

You're right the stories came from "sources" with no names. How do you know that they are untrue?

It doesn't really matter whether or not they are true. The perception is out there, and it's bad PR.

The more I think about it the more I sort of like the hire. Heck, his dad was a head coach only a few years out of college. What the radio talking heads, the newspaper columnist gadflys and old fart fans up here think is less important than what the young HS players in Minneosta think. He is supposedly a recruiting kind a guy.
