Is "Piling On" as Personal Foul still called? Last Time I heard "Piling On" seems like an NFL game back in the '70's. Because, it seems like something out of the Gipper Age.

So do you think it has been called in an Iowa State Game? In recent history?

YES! It was the start of something big!

Yeah, I remember that. It isn't called that often but they don't get much more blatant than this one. A dude that big piling on can cause some damage.

You don't see it called very often, but that was a text book example of how to get the penalty. Just a really stupid play by the OU guy. There were several stupid penalties in that game to keep ISUs hopes alive. There was one for a guy throwing punches at Allen as he crossed over the middle that got ISU a first down when the desperately needed it. Real WTF moment it the game. OU coach had to be pissed.

Did anyone see what #70 (Hudson?) did in the 2nd quarter...the dude he was blocking fell down and he basically just jumped up (not high) and flat-out pancaked the guy. I replayed it about 10 times...still laughing at it.

I'm still looking for what Hudson did wrong. Looked like two OU guys pancaked him, then gave him such extra shots as they stood up. I thought for sure that would have been a penalty against OU.

No one else was wanting to throw a flag except the guy who did was shielded from the punches and only saw a guy who was being held down and punched try to get the guy on top of him off. Without seeing the punches the pushing a guy off with your leg between his legs might look too aggressive. When that flag was thrown someone else who saw the punches and let it go should have thrown their flag as well.

There should be someone in the conference office reviewing game tape for that sort of thing - teams shouldn't have to send in game tape to get things like that reviewed. Many times I think whether a team complains or not might come down to who that opponent is playing the next week and would it do the team sending the tape harm or help by affecting the game the following week.

it should have been called on ISU last saturday vs OU
Enyi Uwazurike was very fortunate, hopefully the coaches point that out

Don't forget the original...

...complete with the official referee signal for giving him the business.

The great bit of this is that you can hear how annoyed and pissed the ref was that he just had to deal with that big mess
