Phil Donahue passes away

I didn’t realize it started way back in 1967. Being 53, I grew up with this guy. Though I don’t remember tuning into the show, I know my mom watched it and just one of the past childhood memories in the late 70s and early 80s

At 88.

Ok so it's a Phil Hartmann reference but every thread should have Phil Hartmann.

Besides the absolutely spot on impersonation by Hartman (RIP), that is pretty much exactly how the shows went.

Some guy with a pretty wife is about as much as I know about the guy even though he's sort of from my era. Don't think I ever saw his show.

I don't remember watching much, but my mom did so was aware. Just watched a documentary and there was a clip of Geraldo. So many shows like that in the 80s that, pre Springer, sat right there in the "entertainment, journalism, hard hitting, controversial, goofy" (could be any of them) type of shows. Sally Jesse, Phil, Geraldo, early Oprah, etc.
