Peloton Ad

All these comments and only a couple hitting on the problem of the social media/influencer culture angle to this commercial, and this device in general.

Way to go Grace from Boston! OMG the spin class teacher said my name!

I love how everyone freaks out about a 2,500 peloton but no one bats an eye when someone gets a 72 month loan on a $40k SUV or buys a $2,000 road bike that only gets used 3 times a year (probably to a tap room). I wouldn’t buy one because it would probably go unused but it seems a little more entertaining than the $2,000 treadmill that now collects dust.
Yeah I actually checked out the article and part of the criticism is that they are marketing an expensive luxury item. And???

I mean I'd never buy one but a $2k exercise bike is a travesty while sitting on your fat ass rotting your brain on your $900 phone is just the norm.

Is there a height or weight limit?

Yes. For the safety of our riders, we recommend the Peloton Bike not be used by anyone under 4'11" tall, over 6'5" tall, or over 300 lbs.

I'm screwed.

**** you, I rode my $3,000 road bike 5 times this year

I am not offended by the ad. Nor am I offended by the people offended at the ad. Nor am I offended at the people offended by the people offended by the ad.

Agreed.

But the people offended by the people offended by the people offended by the ad? I can already feel the disgust in my bones

$2000 is high for a decent road bike for most people though lol
My road bike and my father's ( he got the same bike different size and color) cost less then $1500 (bought online and assembled by us) and are way higher end then most people would ever need or use. Mountain bike don't ask about my mtn bike though that is now an expensive statue here.:(:(:(:(

This twitter thread from a year ago nails Pelton.

To me, it’s a pretentious stationary bike that somehow costs 2 grand. There’s new stationary bikes in any store for like $125.
