Patrick Mahomes Declares for the Draft

My thought is it is really hard to lead the nation in passing two years in a row.

KK is gone after next season in all likelihood. I don't know how he gets to 7 wins and I think he needs that to stay.

Is he considered good (by NFL standards)?

I guess I saw too many plays where he runs around then heaves it as far as he can.
Think he's like a 2nd or 3rd round grade just based on a perusal.

I think he will grade out pretty well at the combine but how many QB's come out of that style of offense and succeed in the pro's? He really doesn't have anything else to prove talent wise, so his draft stock probably is what it is.

Here is my favorite Mahomes story. Patrick's dad, Pat was once a pitcher for the Twins. Prior to one game, he asked for two tickets in the players' WAGs section. He also asked that one ticket be on the first base line and one be on the third base line. One was for his wife, one was for his girlfriend. That's my contribution to this thread.

I think this is the safer alternative for him... Passing 60 plus times some games with what appeared to be a hurt shoulder. Yeah jump now...

Can only be a good thing for us and bad for Tech. Although, QB play and offense aren't going to be an issue for Tech next year anyway. They'll plug in a new guy somewhat seamlessly.

Kingsbury has yet to prove he can put a competent defense on the field.

I'm surprised. Suspect his father told him to get out Lubbock, while he's still healthy and has a future. This could be the final nail for KK, I agree.

Heck, Hawk fans claim Beatheard has NFL talent and I'd rate Mahomes above him.

I'm guessing, much like his coach. He did not want to "show too much" in the bowl game but is saving everything for the combine. Hopefully he will be able to walk again by then.

That sounds about right. He'll have to impress in individual workouts and prove he isn't just a product of a pass happy system, but just about every NFL team is looking for a young QB every year, either to start or to develop. If Christian Hackenberg can get taken in the second round then anything is possible.

Nothing against KK, but if we are to ever rise out of the basement, other teams need to drop. Looking at you Baylor and Tech. Maybe KSU when Snyder finally is done.
True.

But I think Snyder is penciled in until about 2060, when he's about 130 and can retire comfortably.
