The French word for "waffle" sounds a lot like "gopher". So, here's my response.

P.S. Hold the possum gravy.

P.P.S. A pancake in French tastes like crêpe...

Waffles are great, but I’m too lazy to get out the waffle iron, so I tend to make pancakes more often.

I think I like to eat waffles a little more than pancakes. But the cleaning of a waffle iron is much more than a griddle. So pancakes get the edge in my house.

Waffles at a restaurant, pancakes at home. But I hardly ever eat either even tho I like both. Give me biscuits and gravy, really any thing with sausage gravy, or just a classic eggs/meat/bread mix. Sucker for a good benedict.

It depends on my plan for the meal. If I’m in a sweet mood, I go waffle and make that the focal point adding stuff to it , cherries, chocolate, whip cream, etc. the waffle is the focus. Pancakes are always a side for me and if I’m in the mood for eggs and sausage as the focal point, pancakes get the nod.

Lost my appetite when I read “peanut butter” on waffles earlier in the thread. I’ll return tomorrow to try to answer the question.
I almost lose my appetite as well when I eat pancakes at IHOP with a motorcycle riding buddy of mine. He puts sour cream on them, and says he'd put guacamole if they had it.
