In my opinion? 1-2. I think he's that good. I think his age scared a lot of programs away since he is almost or is in his mid 60's and had never been a HC at a "power" level.My point is how many Cignetti’s are out there?
If I'm being generous, there might be 4-5 others currently serving as HCs at a power conference school.
Then there are probably another small handful or so at the lower college levels or something.
So not very many. That's why if I'm Indiana... I'm scraping every bucket because you better believe he's gonna be on the top of the list for a lot of big time jobs that come open. So I guess the question then is, is Indiana his last job and he's happy to reward the University and program... or if say, one of the SEC jobs with deeper pockets open, does the idea of really setting himself and his family up even moreso appeal to him? IDK.
But yeah. There's not many. Which again is why I don't see Indiana as being fluky. Not while he's there. Cause for my money, he's the best coach in the Big 10 following semi-closely by Lanning.
