How about this: when you score in the 30’s and have close to 500 yards offense maybe the problem is on the D. Specifically the 5-3-3 alignment. Worked pretty good when a 1st round NFL rush end applies pressure and your 3 starting LB’s are on the field instead of inexperienced LB’s not ready yet. I think the wide open underneath throws along with the sideline’s covered by LB’s are the weak part of the 5-3-3 along with no pressure. It worked for a couple years but Coach H doesn’t want to blitz so opposing OC’s are exploiting the weak points. They can beat Cinncy & K St at home if Coach H will adjust in the first half instead of waiting until halftime. KU is a legit team, we’ve got one or two wins possible yet.
What defensive lineman would you put in to make the 4 man front and who would you remove from the field?
