Our commits

I don't normally criticize threads, but give me a break. We are a young and developing team. We will get better.

Or so they keep telling us. After tonight, seriously, and I mean it, seriously, what's different from this team right now and Walden's or Chizik's teams? And Chizik didn't even have 5 years to look this bad.

If we go 0-12 this year or 1-11 I gotta think Rhoads won't last. How to you sell hs kids on this program when we have that kind of record in year 5?

i still drink the CPR kool aid but if Texas is like this on natl tv i will be convinced the seat is warm. problem is we are Iowa state. who else is better that wants to come here? Okie state can only carry us so far...

We suck and it's inexcusable in year five coach. Try sturdy or kleinakis at oc, or maybe just maybe get mangino!

How does Rhoads even talk to recruits after a game like this? They watch this ****. They know what we do. Come to ISU to run up the middle for no yards and then run a bubble screen for negative yards? He must spew a bunch of BS to get recruits to come here.

Someone like Tommy Mister will be having some second thoughts after seeing these first two weeks. I think Lazard is in no matter the record.

Great atmosphere and crowd, a good game and the best fans in the nation. So we lost, it happens. I'm sure the commits and the recruits who were at the game still had a great time.

The atmosphere sucked. Once we went 3 and out on the first drive you could have heard a pin drop.

If the team continues on this trajectory - I see no way we don't lose a few of our more ambitious recruits. We look like ****.

Oh, and Klenakis as our OC? Our O-line is our worst unit on the field, losing out closely to the D-Line - which is also, REALLY bad. I thought we were going to be this ace pistol read-option team this year... we suck. We can't run, and we don't have time to throw.

I would say that it was because we were down to third string at Center and one of our Guard spots... but honestly those guys aren't the issue. It is our Tackle play that is killing us.

two sold out games with WEAK crowd support.

Fans are doing their part. Time for the team to step up and do theirs. Touch to cheer for nothing. I would think if you were cheering during that game, people would think you were an Iowa fan. I love how some people on here want to blame find a way to blame the fans. The only thing good about ISU football right now is the fans.

I think Rhoads will be safe, besides who else could we get? Mess will take the fall for the offense being so bad but I can't tell if its the Oline or the play calling or both.

Defense isn't great, we can't stop the run and no pressure on QB. We are just a mess right now. I think we all knew we would take a step back but not this far back.

i can see the Burnhams looking to get the heck out of dodge along with some of our recruits. We need help at linebacker and I hope we don't lose Sam to Wisconsin now.

It'd be different if our offense was putting up points throughout the entire game and being competitive, while still losing. That would be the obvious pointing to the struggle of the defense. But, it's not. If the offense doesn't perform and lacks consistency in play calling, the recruits could notice. It's sad, because there is talent out there on the field; however, it IS NOT being utilized very well.

Bundrage busting it open at the end (against a prevent defense and probably a few bakcups, but lets ignore that for now) was probably the lone saving grace of this game recruitingwise. Hopefully we can play more like that against Tulsa before recruit's eyes continue to wander.

I agree. There is absolutely no way fans should be blamed. I don't know how the previous person stated this. The stands were packed and then in the 3rd quarter I started noticing empty seats. That may be the case later on in the season at the beginning of games if things don't change. This has been the best support in a LONG time if not ever and the hype is there. But for how long??

If there is one thing you can't point your finger at, its the fans. The D is young but they played well enough to win both games. Hard to play D when your O is going 3 and out time and time again. We really don't have an excuse for not putting up 30 plus in the past two games. Also, if we had done that, the D would have held them to less points IMO.

Best fans/great atmosphere? Have you ever watched an SEC game? Games at Wisconsin or half thr B10? Crap, we're in the bottom half of the B12. Half our games aren't on TV outside the state of Iowa.

Why would a recruit with options want to jump in to this situation? Good news is most don't have alternatives.
