April 10, 1970, is considered the informal breakup of The Beatles, as Paul McCartney publicly announced his intention to leave the group.

To mark the 55th anniversary, for this segment, we focus on highlights of group members’ post-Fab Four career. That includes solo songs, of course but also collaboration with non-Beatles. Also accepted: Side projects before the band split.

“On That Note" is presented weekly on Cyclone Fanatic by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

Random starting point, I'll go with Paul. His self-titled solo debut LP was released a week after the announcement (a point of contention within the group at the time, among other points-of-contention) ... Album has a couple of hidden gems, this is one.

Cream, Badge

As a favor for his guitar solo on ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’, George Harrison helped Eric Clapton write ‘Badge’ on Cream’s final album, Goodbye.

“Each of them had to come up with a song for that Goodbye Cream album and Eric didn’t have his written,” said Harrison. “We were working across from each other, and I was writing the lyrics down and we came to the middle part so I wrote ‘Bridge.’ Eric read it upside down and cracked up laughing. ‘What’s a Badge?’
