Well, I got her, and I'm pullin' on her
And she's pullin' back like this mule goin' up a ladder
And I take a choice and I jump right up on her
Damned if I don't land right on top of her
Madonna's Jump from the album Confessions on a Dance Floor. This was actually my favorite song from that very good album. Should have been a hit, but radio passed on it. It was the fourth single from the album, but did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It *did* go to #1 on the U.S. Dance charts (like 49 other Madonna singles).
Lynn Anderson's Rose Garden. Lyrics: "You better look before you leap/still waters run deep". The single from 1970 was #1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart for five weeks, rose to #3 on the Hot 100 and was also a #5 AC hit.
Trivia aside: Rose Garden was sampled in the 1989 #15 Hot 100 hit I Beg Your Pardon by Kon Kan. The lyrics mentioned above were not a part of the sample, however.
