On That Note: I've Seen Fire

"Teardrops of acid rain, burning down through my veins, can't I just sleep for now"

"'Cause we left blood the on the tracks, sweat on the saddle, fire in the hills, a bullet in the barrel"

I knew "Fire" as a Pointer Sisters tune until I was listening to a live radio broadcast of Bruce Springsteen (Cleveland 1978) and heard him do his song. I actually have that on tape as I was recording it (wayback stuff with Marantz tuner and Yamaha tape deck). They released it as an album in 2014. I should get it for nostalgia sake as it was terrific live IIRCC. Or maybe I was just smoking weed, it was a LONG time ago.

Edit: Looked it up and I guess my memory is correct: "On this night, Aug. 9, 1978, in Cleveland’s Agora Ballroom, Springsteen pulled more out of his bag of tricks than usual, and the band was meeting him at every perilous height. Whenever he made the leap, the band was there to catch him and throw him higher. And thanks to the radio broadcast and the recording setup, this is one of the better-preserved documents of the era."

I've been late to the Bruce train but man I'd love to go back to the mid-late 70s for one of his shows.

Was never a big concert guy but the best show I ever attended was with CWW#1 seeing The Boss in St. Paul 1980. Thought we might not get there when she opened the door of her green Celica and a bottle of John Courage fell out of the car and started rolling down the sloped parking ramp. Towards a cop. I quickly grabbed the bottle and tossed it back into the car while glancing at the joint in the ash tray. Ooops. Cop ignored us. Different times, man.

You can wear your fur like the river on fire.
But you better be sure if you're makin' God a liar.
I'm a rattlesnake, babe, I'm like fuel on fire.
