Hello again music buffs.

Last week we 3 OTN hosts (@cyclones500 @CycloneRulzzz and I) did a video-heavy thread on the 40th anniversary of MTV. That thread can be found here:

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-i-want-ed-my-mtv.264475/

Within that tread several people posted favorite MTV videos, but a few also posted Weird Al parodies of those videos... Which got me to thinking - perhaps a good idea for an OTN thread is favorite parody videos. Of course, this will be Weird Al heavy, but there are other song parodies going back to the 50s to consider.

For that reason, we're asking posters to limit their post to AT MOST 2 Weird Al Yankovic parodies until Noon on Wednesday. This will give more people a chance to post their favorites before they're all taken. Thanks.

In addition, I decided to add in as a subtopic, Answer Songs. According to Wikipedia, "An answer song... is a song ... made in answer to a previous song, normally by another artist... Answer songs were extremely popular in the 1950s and 1960s, most often as female responses to an original hit by a male artist." Usually, but not always, these use the original song melody with lyrics that address the topic of the original song as a reply.

Please post both the original song and the Parody/Answer song in pairs.

Parodies:

This is actually a very well-done medley of late 50's and early 60's hits parodied:

Every time I hear the George Harrison song, I can only think of this one from Weird Al. Of course, it's actually 7 words, so there's that!

My first Weird Al choice (not an easy decision!).

Source material: “Give it Away," Red Hot Chili Peppers

Weird Al: “Bedrock Anthem”

Although it's built mainly on “Give it Away,” also includes intro to RHCP’s “Under the Bridge” and the bee-girl from “No Rain.” ...

“Got a baby-elephant vacuum cleaner!”
