On That Note: I Got a Line on You

Begin the day with a friendly voice
A companion, unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood

As I got on a city bus and found a vacant seat
I thought I saw my future bride walking up the street
I shouted to the driver, "Hey conductor, you must...
Slow down, I think I see her, please, let me off this bus"

"Here we are with goodbye in our eyes, running out of reasons to try..."

Who's Leaving Who, a 1986 banger from Anne Murray. This was the follow-up single to the #1 Now and Forever (You and Me). Definitely NOT a country song, but it did chart country. Barely. Capitol Records even issued a 12" single for club play.

A couple years later, the song was actually an international hit by Hazel Dean, with production by Stock Aitken Waterman (think Rick Astley/Bananarama).
