I have some Husker fan relatives. Their fan base may like Rhule now, but if/when he hits some adversity they will turn on him so quickly it’ll make you dizzy.

Frost was a failure and had to go, but it’s crazy how lowly they talk about their “favorite son.” Not sure why anyone would want to coach there

I legit don't think that is the expectation anymore though. Most Nebraska fans have really lowered the bar.
The ones that were around when they were relevant still try to cling to the 90's here and there. Most of the people I hang with just hope they can get back to a bowl game.

The biggest problem they have now that I notice is that the younger crowd here just really does not care as much as the older crowd since they have never really been good in their lifetime.

IMO if Rhule doesn't turn it around I don't think there is much hope moving forward. People can crap on the guy all they want but Rhule can coach and he's just greasy enough to make it work at Nebby. All things considered, he was a fantastic hire for them.
Agree. He's been able to turn around some bad college programs (Temple and Baylor immediately after Art Briles issues) quickly. Plus isn't Nebraska's NIL collective really significant, like the biggest in the nation??

For now. As soon as they get some inflated top ten ranking they, BTN, and ESPN will be all over it.

Their NIL is Top 5-8. This year is just to get some footing, but I would expect them to improve under Rhule. The issue they’re going to have is the same as Iowa though, they lose the protection of playing in the weakest division in CFB history. That means they’re going to have to be comfortable with a lower ceiling that the 90s.

That’s the thing with the current situation. Like him or not, Rhule has proven himself to be a good college coach.

Even then, their ceiling is more or less what Pelion achieved, maybe a little bit higher ceiling when everything lines up right. So basically interchangeable with Iowa in the B10 landscape.

If they try to run MR out of town because he’s not doing “enough” then it’s proof the culture around their program is the problem and will have trouble finding good coaches.

Seeing as he just had a player arrested for burglary, he‘s implemented his system quickly
That’s the Nebraska way, except for being arrested. Devaney ”helped” Johnny Rogers and TO had numerous players who were not arrested. I wonder who he has designated to get the opponents best player tossed from the game.

This. He's a good coach and will get them competitive within a few years. But that B10 West has been so bad that if you have a solid team, you are going 8-4 minimum. They're not going to have that luxury a year from now.

Yes Nebby has played in the weakest division but the B1G hasn't given them many breaks as far as cross over games go. They have never had an Iowa schedule.

Heard some of his speeches during camp to his players, easy to buy in. Says all the right things at least. A week Husker program is great for us, so I hope he sucks, but I do think Rhule is the guy for Nebraska. Probably only gonna win 7-8 games a year, really make some Fusker boosters miss the Pelini days, but who knows.

As always, Huck the Fuskers, and Huck the Fawks!
