Oklahoma State this weekend

No road game this year is easy, but I still think we win a close on Saturday. If we just find a way to end the conference year 13-5, that would be pretty amazing.
Amazing is right considering I'd take anything like 10-8 or 11-7 in this loaded conference. We certainly aren't going to sneak up on anyone this season. And its a tough grind the way we have to play. Here's to the good guys keeping it rolling.

With the exception of 2021, Oklahoma State/Iowa State basketball has been a cardiac event more often than not for years.

Especially when we were down there.

They had a couple big wins when we were just bad under Prohm, but otherwise a ton of close games

IIRC that game was insanity. Two defensive minded teams scoring in the 80s and no one gaining more than 4 points of separation.
And like back to back to back midrange jumpers from IZB

They are very good defensively (top 10) and really average offensively (~125th) [link]

Offensively there's nothing they do above average - they are only top 100 on limiting turnovers (82th) and FG% on close-in shots (87th) - but they don't get a ton of baskets at the rim. This is the type of team that our defense can REALLY excel against - their only real hope is that they get unusually hot from 3pt range (they're 34% on the season)

Defensively they are very good at limiting customer FG% at all 3 levels - their 3rd nationally in opp FG% (~36%). The rest of the defensive stats don't stand out. They don't appear to be a great rebounding team.

It will be a low scoring game, likely in the low 60s. If either team scores 70, they'll win. It could easily be first to 60 wins.

always a battle with the pokes and Anderson will light us up again. hope we can answer! feels like iowa game to me

Does anyone know the status of Moussa Cisse? He missed 3 straight games, was back for OU last night- but only played 2 minutes.

I think they look a lot different defensively with both Cisse and Boone on the court compared to Boone and 4 guards. Although I guess technically Tyreek Smith and Woody Newton, who have been starting in his place are listed as "forwards", they are more Watson/Tre King sized

Playing in the Big 12 is like the NFL..... any given game day any team can beat the other team..... and it's really not a shock when it happens.

The analytics have this one as pick 'em. The only road game we are slated to be favored in the rest of the way is @TexasTech -2. Hopefully we can pick up a couple more road wins and go 8-1 or 7-2 at home.

OSU is like us last year - you don’t want to play them because of their toughness on D, but they just chuck the ball at the hoop and can have really bad nights on offense. Any B12 game is tough and winning on the road is even harder, but we negate much of their advantage because we match (or exceed) their toughness. If we have an average offensive game or better, we will win.

No bye weeks in this conference. Heading to Stillwater this Saturday. Any thoughts on this game?

The pokes have looked really rough around the edges, but just completely dominated OU in the second half last night. They looked way better than they have all year. Every game is tough, but this one might be tougher than I thought 24 hours ago.
Ok st has had a rough season so I’m sure they’ll shoot 80% crowd looked pretty decent for them last game, a little over 10k so I’m guessing it’ll be sold out for us but maybe that was because it was rival ou

I like the fact we are playing them after OU. I watched that game and you could tell they were geeked up for that one. That and one day fewer rest may give us a slight edge. Gonna be tough but I feel good. We got house money at the moment. Hopefully we get a surprise and Jaz will be good to go.
