NFL: ***Official Wild Card Weekend Thread***

If I'm honest about my expectations for this team, it didn't include a Super Bowl trip this year anyway, being the first year of a new coaching regime. So while I'm disappointed in how they lost, I'm not going to say they underachieved. But that was a waste of an incredible defensive effort.

The Bears made a ton of progress this season and they are going to be the favorites to win the division next year as well.

I'm not saying the Bears should've let the Vikings win but they absolutely deserve that loss for playing their starters as long as they did last week for absolutely no reason (once the Rams game was no longer in question). Don't feel bad for any Bears fans at all after how annoying they've been this season

They were good for the first time in ages. I don't fault their fans for being over exuberant this season.

It will be interesting if Fangio goes. I can imagine there are plenty of DC’s that salivate at the thought of Coaching this defense. What is Singletary up to?

Hoping Fangio stays, but likely will be a HC.

This is a dumb take. What does the fact the starters played have to do with them losing? Plenty of teams also lose when they rest their guys.

And annyoing? FFS have you heard packer fans talk before? Bears fans have a long way to go to hit that threshold.

Yeah, it's been what, a decade? That's what bad ownership will do. They still have way more hardware in their trophy case than the Queens and Chefs do though. And, the Bears are going to be around for a while with this group. Just need to find a kicker.

I think Blair Walsh is available.

Don't count on it. Things looked promising with Cutler too.

That wasn’t what I was saying. They had nothing to play for last week the entire second half. Kept their starters in and won and in result had to face a tougher team than they otherwise would have. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the Eagles were a much more formidable opponent at the end of the season than the Vikings were. Glad they ended up losing. **** em

But I guess I do agree on the Packers

Interesting...it is still Parkey's fault for what appears a low kick but it does look like it was tipped at the line:

When this happens during a Cyclone game I scare the dogs. An NFL game? Meh. No nearly the bond with the NFL

Bad news for Parkey is he'll need a new career. Silver lining is he can get out of Chicago

You probably shouldn’t act like that after any game.

And he’s due $9M. I don’t think he’ll need a new career any time soon.

Me, when I realized the Bears' playoff hopes were going to come down to a Cody Parkey kick as time expired:

Early thoughts on next week's games:

IND @ KC - Indy is red hot, but look at their schedule. They haven't seen an offense anywhere near as explosive as Kansas City's yet this year. On the other hand, the pressure of being the #1 seed combined with the long history of playoff collapses for the Chiefs gives me just a little hope. I think they'll stick to a similar script as they did against Houston - try to run the ball and chew clock on offense, and keep everything in front of them defensively, tackle well, force Mahomes to take what's being given to him and get off the field on third down.

PHI @ NO - Saints by a lot. I think they're the favorites to win it all.

SD @ NE - Pats. I'll take them until someone finally kills the beast. Potential to be the best game of the weekend.

DAL @ LA - The Rams are really good at home. But they don't defend the run well, so I'm not totally ruling Dallas out if Prescott and Zeke can get chunk yardage plays on the ground.

It's the Offense's fault for not putting up more than 6 pts. It's the Defense's fault for not tackling on that last drive where they allowed the Eagles to score and go ahead by 1.

Don’t forget about the coaches miserably failing with the TO’s over the last 2 min.
