There was a time where most NFL coaches came from college. Now it's more of a rare thing. They are different employment pools for the most part.
May be a way to tell ISU AD and fans that he wants the full allotment of 22MM to stay competitive.
The NFL coaching pool is amazing. Guys fail at one spot and still are considered for the next job like that failure didn’t happen. Why do they recycle failed coaches so often and not go out looking for new candidates?
College does that in some ways too. You can fail massively as a head coach and get a great buy out, only to still get good money as an assistant somewhere else.
And a bunch of guys who are clearly riding the coat tails of generational players being credited for their success.
He should take an interview with them. Certainly doesn’t hurt anything and it may help him decide if the NFL game would ever be for him. Maybe it can also give an edge on the recruiting trail.

I mean he took them to two straight AFC championship games with Mark Sanchez as QB. Couldn’t have been that bad.

Aaron Rodgers would listen to Matt Campbell about as much as I listen to my teenagers.
The Jets don't seem to have the best culture. So would Woody bring in a "culture guy" to fix it?
No one is selling culture more than Matthew Allen Campbell currently.
Not sure anyone would want the Jets job unless they needed a paycheck or out of complete desperation.
Like it's either coach the Jets or be a power bottom in a grease film

It makes more sense in the pros. In college it’s all on you to make a good program. In the pros you are just coaching the roster you were givin. Sometimes coaches just have a crap roster and they take the blame. Bill Belecheck is a good example. College it’s your job to put everything together
Aaron won’t be there next year, I’m guessing he retires but either way the jets won’t bring him back.

The culture there is awful. Problem is, Woody is the culture. It's a circus. And CMC, nor any other coach, is going to change that. Hell, he had a 17 year old making decisions this season, and apparently nixed a trade for a good WR because his Madden rating wasn't high enough. The problems with the Jets start and end with Woody Johnson.

You honestly think that sounds like Campbell? Not to say I or anyone else knows anything about him but I would think the past 9 years would show that that's not how he rolls
