***Official Signing Day Updates***

Can someone help me understand our ranking this year, 51 I believe, and why we aren’t moving up the rankings more? I am in no way questioning the staff because they are obviously great and identifying and developing talent but the hope would be to start climbing those rankings, too.
I think this year was a little down because of Covid. A lot easier to woo better recruits if you can actually get them on campus.

In most years, kids that CMC and his staff identified early would go to summer camps, and with exposure have substantial rating boosts as the year went along. Because of COVID, that process was short circuited.

Examples of players who blew up would include Brock Purdy (offers-wise), Breece Hall, Hunter Dekkers—and more than one that got away, like Dontae Manning.

Same as every year (25/85).

The only exception is that 2020 seniors don't count against the 2021 limit, should they come back for their "free" year.

So the limits haven’t changed but we have 4 year guys coming back. So how many scholarships are available this year? Or are they just signing like regular and straighten it out later with grayshirts?

He was recruited as a corner.

That said, not counting the JC Langston, I could easily have seen him, Freyler and Verdon being a three headed monster at the three safety spots.
I think he was the highest rated CB/S this year. Wonder what happened.

They’re signing absolutely normally. Everything is normal. The total in ‘21 will be 85 plus X number of seniors that decide to return.

If 7 seniors decide to come back for us, it’s 92. If three, it’s 88. If none, it’s 85.

Got it?

The tricky part comes in ‘22, when the limit goes back to 85.

Are you sure it goes back to 85 the following year with everyone being granted a free year of eligibility this year? Not just the seniors.

Yes. Absolutely sure.

Most folks are anticipating lots of grad transfers to schools in the lower ranks, for those who want the extra year.
