People always talk about moving the portal because it doesn't make sense with football still being played, but it also has to coincide with the academic year somehow.
What does that leave, three possible windows? As is right now, end of fall before spring semester. End of summer right before fall, which won't work practice has already started. End of spring semester, before summer, which is after current spring ball.
The real solution is to have the Playoffs end before the current portal starts. IMO

It may also purposely be during the playoffs so the teams in the playoffs are at a disadvantage and it will create parity and allow the next Indiana to rise.
Classes start on Tuesday, January 20th. The last day to enroll in classes without approvals is January 26th. If they weren't registered on Friday, they will be doing everything on Tuesday since the university is closed on Monday for the MLK holiday.
Agreed, but until they're no longer required to be students, it does matter.
What ever happened to that fullback from the University of Arizona that wanted to come here?

this is 100% false. He was constantly tweeting at the coaching staff. He absolutely wanted to come here
I bet he was doing that to a number of schools so that they noticed him. He's a fullback, so probably not a lot of schools know who he even is.
