I wouldnt put much stock in transfer portal rankings for example there is a lot of the same numbers for ratings. It seems more based on attention or where they are transferring to than talent. HS rating and offers seems to be a little better.I think most guys with high HS stars that don't start at their position Freshmen year drop if they transfer.
Alex Payne was one of the top linemen in the country when he committed to USC and he is in portal.
Still no ranking yet. But he will not approach his high school ranking, unless he commits to an SEC school, then it will exceed high school rankings

Why did his ranking drop? He was getting significant playing time as a RS Freshman at Auburn. This wasn't a guy that hung out for 3-4 years and couldn't get on the field.

I think a player rating is required to drop when their team goes 1-7 in conference play and get 2 total P4 wins.

Yes, it's hard to predict. KU's best lineman transferred from Central Missouri and is now blocking for Purdy. Loved this kid, but damn my "hate" for Nebraska runs deep and long- too many #$% whooping watched and obnoxious fans when I was in college.
Need to land some more wide receiver talent before I'll be confident of it. But **** it why not.
