***Official portal tracker thread***

Still takes lines time to gel.

If you look at WSU this year, they were rough to start, but 2nd half gave 2 playoff teams and a ACC championship participant really tough games.

Maybe it will be different, hope they start out strong.

Don't play Tech in Big 12 next year so that is nice
Ole Miss was 2nd week in October. Given our schedule, we will be okay if his team needs the entire month of September to gel.

I think most guys with high HS stars that don't start at their position Freshmen year drop if they transfer.

Alex Payne was one of the top linemen in the country when he committed to USC and he is in portal.

Still no ranking yet. But he will not approach his high school ranking, unless he commits to an SEC school, then it will exceed high school rankings :-)
I wouldnt put much stock in transfer portal rankings for example there is a lot of the same numbers for ratings. It seems more based on attention or where they are transferring to than talent. HS rating and offers seems to be a little better.

His HS rating maybe, but his rating dropped from 91 HS to 85 as a transfer.
Why did his ranking drop? He was getting significant playing time as a RS Freshman at Auburn. This wasn't a guy that hung out for 3-4 years and couldn't get on the field.

Oh yeah, because transfer rankings are terrible.

He played on special team lines, I don't think played a lot on offensive sets.

I could be wrong though. Maybe got wrong info

Does not mean he is not talented. And Jackson Arnold is the absolute worst QB to block for.

ASU has rolled over for the athletic department debt.

“Well, all these big companies, they’re just writing it off.”

“You don’t even know what a write off is.”

“But they do, and they’re the ones writing it off.”

I think a player rating is required to drop when their team goes 1-7 in conference play and get 2 total P4 wins.

Yes, it's hard to predict. KU's best lineman transferred from Central Missouri and is now blocking for Purdy. Sometimes you can find those and sometimes a big-time HS recruit was just a bad fit and transfers to another school and looks great.

We had been in on JC French from Georgia Southern. It sounds like we backed off when Raynor locked in his commitment.

Raynor + Moberly + incoming freshman makes it hard to be attractive to the kind of portal QBs that we would care about who are good enough to start. The room is in decent shape. Still need to add at least one more QB who isn't a true freshman or walk-on though.
Grab a Juco or something that will be content just to have a place
