ASU has rolled over for the athletic department.

Yup. University is just going to eat it. This is the kind of thing that leaning into having a gigantic on line university catalog that prints money can make possible. Maybe they just fund it by raising fees for students who never step on the campus by $20 a credit hour. As a public university it should be something there's an answer to, if people are willing to dig.

Our OL might be just as good or better. That does a lot if we aren’t able to get the most talented skill positions.
Still takes lines time to gel.

If you look at WSU this year, they were rough to start, but 2nd half gave 2 playoff teams and a ACC championship participant really tough games.

Maybe it will be different, hope they start out strong.

Don't play Tech in Big 12 next year so that is nice

I don’t have many expectations record-wise with a new coaching staff, but I’ll be looking for any changes and improvements in the way we play and the intangibles (dare I say, the margins?)

How do our lines play? Do we turn the ball over? Force turnovers? Special teams? Do we see visible improvement as the season progresses?

It’s interesting that Campbell played Rocco knowing that Rocco was injured and not at 100% and yet he chose not to play Manske during the Cyclones losing streak. How much faith does he really have in Manske? Why did he put Rocco at risk by playing him while he was injured?
He was saving the redshirt for the upcoming years at pedo st

Not to be that guy but if Palano was going to Michigan or Georgia then I would be bummed that we got outbid for someone we really wanted. I can't think CJR is devastated about missing on Palano if he's going to BC at the end of the day
I mean us as ISU fans can think that way to make ourselves feel better, but he looked great in that bowl game, and had solid numbers as a young player. Gotta image the staff would’ve loved to have someone like that familiar with their scheme to help usher in the new era. You might be right though, or in the end he may have just wanted a fresh start - we’ll likely never know.

That being said, I like the transfers at LB he’s been able to bring in so far.

Are we looking at any other QB's in the portal?

We had been in on JC French from Georgia Southern. It sounds like we backed off when Raynor locked in his commitment.

Raynor + Moberly + incoming freshman makes it hard to be attractive to the kind of portal QBs that we would care about who are good enough to start. The room is in decent shape. Still need to add at least one more QB who isn't a true freshman or walk-on though.

His HS rating maybe, but his rating dropped from 91 HS to 85 as a transfer.
I think most guys with high HS stars that don't start at their position Freshmen year drop if they transfer.

Alex Payne was one of the top linemen in the country when he committed to USC and he is in portal.

Still no ranking yet. But he will not approach his high school ranking, unless he commits to an SEC school, then it will exceed high school rankings :-)
