And to your point it may be a good thing that it didn’tThe last Williams & Blum when they talked about how prices will go down the longer guys are in the portal, I knew this whole “it all comes together on the 2nd” was wishful thinking at best.
SEC has been paying players all along and yelled at the top of the mountain about their supposed superiority. Their pitiful bowl record shows that it wasn't any inherent ability that made them great it was just money. Now that "cheating" is above the table anyone can be great. This is a mess. How many programs can compete financially at the highest level. 20? Alabama can’t. Their war chest isn’t anywhere close to the Oregons, Ohio States, Texas, Michigans, and even Texas Techs of the world. Let’s see how they like being second fiddle.
Just wait until the big money at SMU starts to make up for lost time.
Because he was given a pool by JP and to hire a ST coach meant he could not push more money to his assistants. That won't happen at PSU.... he'll probably hire a decent special teams coach there. Not sure why he didn't here though?
yep.... just saw a video on youtube about how much Illinois is losing to the portal too. I didn't watch it, but it's crazy all the players that are going into the portal. what a total s**t show. This is a mess. How many programs can compete financially at the highest level. 20? Once again, with the Alabama cannot compete in N.I.L.? SMH. Say it enough times, I suppose it will become true! FTR, they are the 3rd highest revenue earning Athletic Department in FBS. They literally have 80 players (currently) in the NFL with unlimited funds, plus they do have other wealthy donors who 100% care about football. Right now, they are struggling due to a poor coaching hire, not because of NIL. If Alabama needs to write an NIL check, they can. This is a mess. Meh. This is a weak take. There was graft everywhere including in the holier than though B1G. The SEC is struggling now though. That is for sure.SEC has been paying players all along and yelled at the top of the mountain about their supposed superiority. It's obviously cyclical. Everyone's issue with the SEC is the cult like dependence on the idea that it isn't.Meh. This is a weak take. There was graft everywhere including in the holier than though B1G. The SEC is struggling now though. That is for sure.
I said that when they hired DeBoer from Washington. As we have just witnessed- college football, for the players, is about the head coach, not so much the University.Once again, with the Alabama cannot compete in N.I.L.? SMH. When you chant your conference name after games instead of your own team’s name you are in a cult. It's obviously cyclical. Everyone's issue with the SEC is the cult like dependence on the idea that it isn't.
NutsOne third of college football is reportedly in the portal by the numbers. This is insane.
Not including the freshman and jucos. It a simple supply and demand equation. Prices will come down for those who wait. Your risk is what quality is remainingOne third of college football is reportedly in the portal by the numbers. This is insane.

That is a totally annoying chant. Never done it myself. However, it really is a defensive mechanism due to the olden days when the SEC was under-appreciated (yes, that happened!).When you chant your conference name after games instead of your own team’s name you are in a cult.
When was the last time a student athlete was declared academically ineligible?
The most recent confirmation is the GPA score for the men's basketball team- as announced by TJ to open up his Houston Baptist post-game presser. The quality of TJ is unmatched at the college coaching ranks. The guy was beaming about his player's a academic success. If Iowa State losses TJ then heads will need to roll. Can we confirm players are still required to go to class? TJ Finley is in the portal and his next school will be his 7th. I would love to see the transcripts on a lot of these kids that have gone to 3+ schools.
I know Iowa State touts team academic accomplishments, but would be interesting to see grad rates at schools.
