All coaches say this. He went to a place where he would have the opportunity to actually do it. If you think Iowa State could win a national championship in football then I don't think you actually watch other terms or the sport in general.
If Indiana can win a national title, then I don't think it would be "impossible" to do it at Iowa State. Obviously, it takes a ton of luck, favorable scheduling (which most teams have nowadays with the huge leagues), the perfect coach/admin combination, and some NIL fun money. I do believe the Iowa State program was on a trajectory to be in a consistent position (in this iteration of the Big 12) to compete for getting into the playoff. And in the right matchup, hell yeah we could win a playoff game. I have no doubt there was a confidence/cockiness/whatever from the old staff that they could do what Indiana is doing. I hope Jimmy feels the same way.

PSU beat writer Tweeted last night that he was hearing 20-25 ISU players will end up there. That's even more than most here were predicting.

Does that include HS recruits?

If that is 2025 roster players ending up at PSU, I would be highly surprised. But if that includes HS recruits that writing was on the wall based on Franklin PSU recruiting class defections.

You (not specifically you) are married to an ugly woman and they divorce and leave you, then you remarry a hot woman and then they divorce and leave you. The end result is the same.

If you want to be a cuck because you were married to a hot woman who left you then that's your choice.

Why would it not be appropriate to compare Campbell leaving to a co-worker whom you are close to, getting offered another, more lucrative position at a different company?

Why is it, do you think, that you go right to comparing it to a sexual relationship?

I posted the tweet below. He said portal. I listed out the ones I've heard and came up with 15 so might be high unless he's taking some depth pieces also.

Jontez has one year left. PSU won't even be the defense he knows. Every player is different, but that sounds like a situation where you go and find the best situation as a starter for the most money you can get. The fact of the matter is, like Rogers is finding out, Campbell won't be at the top end of the spending curve because he is replacing a lot of dudes this year so there's less to go around than places that can focus on a couple key additions.

I’d be very surprised if that’s accurate. I’ve already seen a handful of ISU transfers today that don’t even have PSU as a visit on their schedule.

Is this one better?

One of my more important client's leave me to go to a bigger firm, am I going to cheer them on and stay in contact with them? No, I'll concentrate on my clients who want to do business with me.

Campbell was only able to retain 20 players. Hope we have a late surge & retain a few over that here in Ames.

Will remain to be seen how many follow Rogers to Ames from Wazzu, but it does not appear to be some isolated mass exodus from ISU - this is just the way these transitions occur now.

It will be telling but I'm thinking this was not how those at Pedo State thought it would transpire. They lost a lot of higher rated talent.
