So our new HC is bringing a QB with him?
Our new QB Coach is bringing a QB with him?
We have a QB staying at ISU?
Could we have a QB in the portal that might decide to stay at ISU?
Just asking?

That would be a great start. Except for the one who went into the portal. Don't take him back. Only take kids that want to be at ISU.

if this is referring to ISU getting players back, no shot. Doubt they’d even be welcomed back at this point
I’d be surprised too. I’d like to think you’d be open minded and take the best player at each spot but this could also create some dynamics in the locker room you don’t want - especially as you’re trying to come in and put your stamp on things. At minimum, it wouldn’t align with other reports of what’s going on with the current roster.

I've said this before but if those numbers are right and Brahmer gets $1.5 mil MC is going to blow through that $30 mil pretty quickly.
I guess we’ll never know but we’ve seen people here report upwards of 7M between Brahmer, Rocco and Manske. They’ve got money to spend but that seems crazy.

The players MIGHT be.... but not with the same coaches.
I think Campbell is excellent at building a structure and a culture that allows for consistent success, with everyone and everything all working together toward specific aims.

I will admit that his OC and DC picks will be key for gamedays. Who knows how the Campbell era would have gone without Heacock, and his early success there is pretty critical so that he has time to put it all in place.

That's nearly 1/4 of the supposed 30 million. Seems nuts for 3 guys with one being the backup QB next season
And if Rocco is getting 3.5 it means some of these other big mass are probably pulling 5.

I have no doubt there is big money being thrown around but some of these numbers are probably being plucked out of thin air.

I don't think he needs to bring in 25 high school kids each year, especially the first year or two. Maybe take the best quality ones you can get. I could see him bringing in mostly portal transfers the first year or two. They are going to be physically more developed and have college experience. Bring in as many quality transfers as you can and let them compete for playing time.

Similar to what TJ has done. Some years we have few or no HS players that stick with the team and bring in transfer players to fill out the roster.
There's a lot of changes happening at the same time.

I'd kind of forgotten the change where football rosters are now limited to 105 players. But as part of that change, schools can award more than 85 scholarships.

This fall WVU signed 49 HS recruits. There were a handful of other schools that signed 35-40 HS players.

So does it make sense with the ability to scholarship 105 players for Rogers to sign bigger HS classes. Maybe use some of the "House/NIL" budget on scholarships to borderline kids that may have historically gone to UNI, SDSU, NDSU, etc.

Rogers is going to have a good chunk of money to spend on core players like QB, RB and WR. He probably will do better.
Linemen should be your core players. RB/WR are plentiful in the portal. QB will be interesting. Is Moberly the guy, or do you go get a big fish, can you afford it? My bet is a unheralded QB, either a current backup somewhere or a lower division player, to complete with Moberly.

It does seem like crazy money, especially for a TE and backup QB.

But I can see Campbell bringing in an unusual number of current roster Cyclones to help implement his culture and schemes if he sticks with 3-3-5.

CW think Raynor is a good chance at coming in at QB and I imagine he beats Moberly out. Lots of experience. Knows QB coach.
