Just need to remind myself that though I was upset TJ encouraged Rasir Bolton to leave, it ended up likely being best for both parties.

Kakert mentioned on a pod that they are interested in some members of the secondary.Just curious, which transfers do you guys think might end up at Iowa?
Hopefully not Manske or Sama.
Well that’s fits perfectly with making retaining current DL a priority. But I thought it’s too hard to recruit DL (last two ISU head coaches).
Over half ISUs team was good enough to play for a P4 program that won 11 and 8 games the past two seasons, but are not good enough to play for another P4 school?I hope the short term money is nice for these guys, because over half of them won’t get much playing time wherever they transfer unless it’s not P4
Spinning the fact that we can’t afford to keep our players now (we did a pretty good job last year) as a positive for the new staff is quite a stretch. That sounds like quite a hurdle for the program to overcome. You have no idea what any of the conversations were between the new staff and returning players. Some left because they want more money. Some were asked to leave because the new staff wanted a different type of player.
Interesting that all the young defensive line stayed.
Well he did talk about winning in the trenches, it took 8 years to find a oline coach that could do itIn the entire decade he was hear, I literally never heard a single person say Campbell was a master at developing OL.
It’s weird that God apparently thinks every single college athlete should transfer for more money. To all the players leaving (mostly because apparently God has told them so) , to quote Nelson

The obsession with this is weird. It’s weird that God apparently thinks every single college athlete should transfer for more money.
In today’s world - pretty much all teams are needing players to transfer in to fill roster gaps. That doesn’t mean it’s an improvement for the player or the team - it’s just musical chairs in many cases. It will be interesting to see where the majority of the players leaving do end up. I am sure a lot will go to Penn State, which seems normal today to have players follow their coach, but I wonder how much demand there is going to be for some of these guys.
I'm not spinning anything. Iowa State has a lot of players to bring in. Doesn't make sense to pay $2 to $3 million on a running back that has 1 year left. I would rather spend that money on 4-6 additional players that can have a larger impact.Spinning the fact that we can’t afford to keep our players now (we did a pretty good job last year) as a positive for the new staff is quite a stretch. Absolutely, it’s hilarious that every time a college athlete prays about what to do, God counsels him to take more NIL money. The obsession with this is weird.
Lots of talented kids, but I think the general perception was FCMC did more with less talent. We often saw this in the all conference stuff. Guys seemed undervalued. It may hurt kids in the portal too.Over half ISUs team was good enough to play for a P4 program that won 11 and 8 games the past two seasons, but are not good enough to play for another P4 school?
Agree, it appears we had players staying for less money out of loyalty before and that was a huge benefit to the program. Hopefully in the future the new staff gets the same benefit. In the meantime, that means the level of player we had on recent teams is not affordable. A sobering realization.I'm not spinning anything. Iowa State has a lot of players to bring in. Some of our players took less money in prior years and are no longer doing that when the coach they came to play for is no longer here.
Some players are not good enough for the NFL so they are going to go to the highest bidder. Loyalty no longer matters.
No the constant obsession of people here with players mentioning God.Absolutely, it’s hilarious that every time a college athlete prays about what to do, God counsels him to take more NIL money.
Yes, I realize 90% of the players use the same transfer announcement template, most ending with “with that said, I will continue my career at School X.” You just gotta laugh at it.
God is apparently short on cash. It’s weird that God apparently thinks every single college athlete should transfer for more money.
Jamo…they really wanted KK and Flora so small winsKakert mentioned on a pod that they are interested in some members of the secondary.
If God would just stop advising all our players to transfer for more money, I’m sure that it would be mentioned less here. Take it up with him.No the constant obsession of people here with players mentioning God.
