Do you also like twenty eight year olds?I could probably do that . . . . kick (50) four yarders.

Nope, I wouldn't even like (20) 28 year olds. Too old for those shenanigans.Do you also like twenty eight year olds?

I know, mine was directed at the trolls puking every commit we have gottenWhat? My comment was a joke about the ISU bridge entering the portal.
WSU and Oregon State were the poster children for what was wrong with the sport two years ago. They got run over and left for dead. Just saying. They say no press is bad press. I am seeing ISU all over the place being used as the poster team for everything that is wrong with NIL, the transfer portal, and the current state of college sports. Could we be the catalyst for change? It wouldn't be the first time something we did caused a major shift in college sports (or at least we like to think so). Maybe it will be like when we helped end the BCS. Although in hindsight that hasn't worked out too well for us.
THE NEW 2026 INTEGRAIs anyone else getting a massive Uber commercial blitz that takes over their scfreen, constantly?
No insight into Pedo St, but there was a very interesting article in the Athletic this past week. Essentially, anonymous interviews with GMs and Coaches said the deep pockets are either finding ways to work around cap or are just ignoring it. By work around, one GM suggested you could give any amount to a third party and they distribute it.Does anyone have a good explanation on how Penn state is going to 'Spend" 30 million dollars. The entire athletic department is 20 million cap. The extra 10-15 million assuming some other sports are supported under the cap needs to be real NIL deals (deals out side the university) that are approved by an audit committee. When does this Audit committee review and approve? is it ahead of time where they can then promise this ? Are they deals set up separately that will be reviewed at a later date with risk not being approved?
That would explain some of the Iowa kids leaving town. Maybe they were told ‘if you want to stay, we need you to put on 25-40 pounds and get in a 3pt stance…OR figure out how you’re gonna drop your 40 time .4 + seconds.IMO Rogers probably did run off existing roster LB's for a few reasons:
- Rogers looking for more speed than guys on current roster.
- Rogers not willing to pay what players wanted.
- With a 4-2 defense, just don't need the same # of LB's on the roster vs. 3-3 defense.
- Rogers wanting to develop/pay younger players. Guys who can grow with his program vs. guys who start in 2026 and then graduate.
- Rogers plans on bringing in LB's who Rogers feels are an upgrade based on his system/approach.
Interesting couple of quotes around ISU from DeSantis and Ted Cruz, expressing a need to fix it, for what it’s worth. The challenge, aside from thinking the govt can and should fix it, is that money talks. Obviously there are a lot of powerful people and institutions with a monetary interest in not changing things. They say no press is bad press. But interesting part was “just ignoring it.” GMs believe no one will ever hold them accountable.
Texas schools lead by TT and with the support of the gov have been the hold outs to sign the CSC deal for NIL agreement. Until this is signed (and let’s be honest even afterwards most likely) there are no guard rails in place for NIL so it’s still very free range. Most P4 schools have whole depts dedicated to this kinda thing to both keep it within the current structure and try to future proof it.No insight into Pedo St, but there was a very interesting article in the Athletic this past week. Doesn't hurt it's happening to an Iowa school if you're somebody who has presidential aspirations. But an antitrust exemption for the NCAA isn't as simple as it seems. I'd rather work through the problems with that, however, than what this has become in two years.Interesting couple of quotes around ISU from DeSantis and Ted Cruz, expressing a need to fix it, for what it’s worth. Exactly…. I SO want to beat those ******** next year ! Probably not going to happen….it appears Jimmie hates those bastids as much as we all do ! Maybe he’ll put some emphasis on this game! Problem is we’re likely not going to have many Iowa kids on our roster .So when ISU wins next season their tears will be twice as delicious
The unifying theory across athletics departments nationally seems to be "they can't possibly punish all of us when there are no written rules."What will happen down the road is there will be an investigation, the "blue blood" will get in trouble and then Iowa State will be held accountable.
Great question and a point I’ve thrown out there. Kids love Smith. He won the last 4 games. Unknown whether MC was onboard w keeping him, but you gotta think no.Just observing things at Penn State. I pose this question, is Terry Smith the de facto head coach?
Sounds like potential for disaster! Good luck cmc….Great question and a point I’ve thrown out there. Kids love Smith. He won the last 4 games. Unknown whether MC was onboard w keeping him, but you gotta think no.
From a management perspective, I think it’s an awful move. Maybe, maybe it saves you a few kids. But you know players are gonna run to smith with every little complaint about play calls, touches, playing time, etc. how he handles that will determine if this is a small problem or a giant one.

Why you would think MC wouldn’t be on board for it? Would be insane to sign up for that job and not be able to dictate your staff. There is no way he didn’t sign off on that. A lot of new coaches keep former staff on for continuity and to have some insight into the program.Great question and a point I’ve thrown out there. Kids love Smith. He won the last 4 games. I think he is making some major decisions. It almost sounds like Smith was the one who told Campbell to hire the DC. If I didn’t know better I would say there was division in the administration on whether to hire Campbell and Smith is the ADs safety blanket. I think you are right, it opens the door to a lot of problems later on.Great question and a point I’ve thrown out there. Kids love Smith. He won the last 4 games.
