Former Cyclone CB Myles Norwood is in the portal... again. Started at Iowa Western, then ISU for a year, then Ball State for a year, then South Carolina this year, who knows where next year. It's ridiculous, this kid shouldn't have any eligibility left.Looking at the transfer portal on X…the flood gates have opened.
There are going to be a lot of players available.
I don’t understand what his thinking could be. With so little continuity how can someone like him build any skills? Without strong skills how can he be out demanding more money? I can see a three year starter at ISU chasing a bag for a final year after having established himself this kid has never established himself so what the hell is this kid doing?Former Cyclone CB Myles Norwood is in the portal... again. Better situation for us to get wsu commits vs penn st getting isu commits. That is not good for CampbellGetting these WSU flips is not good. These guys are not P4 football players. Ouch.
Personally I think for a lot of these guys the portal means they get to be recruited and fawned over and sought out again and again and again. Coming out of HS and being recruited was probably the highlight of their lives with all these schools telling them how amazing they are. With the portal they get to relive that, in this guy's case every year.I don’t understand what his thinking could be. With so little continuity how can someone like him build any skills? A buddy sent me this gem after ASU loss…Rocco ranked 56th in qbr
Exactly. Money, evaluation, and development.People get way too carried away about stars and offers. Player development and retention are equally as important in today’s landscape.
Plus, each has an agent in their ear. Some are legit. A lot are sleazy. If agent gets a kid 50k, it’s an easy 10% for the agent.Personally I think for a lot of these guys the portal means they get to be recruited and fawned over and sought out again and again and again. I agree with the premise, but I think we first need a professional, efficiently run concession operation, which we do not have IMHOI always love the 'drunken idiots' thing as if 1) it isn't already happening and 2) every single study shows that alcohol related incidents GO DOWN when you serve in stadium.
Jamie has asked enough of the fan base to give more and more and more that it's time to shift some of that burden to people who can voluntarily choose to spend their money that way rather than strong arming the entire fan base to pony up more to get access.
I will swear I saw a second coach on the grassy knoll . . . . talking to recruits as the motorcade left town.Or maybe, just maybe, there a no conspiracies and this is just what can happen with coaching changes.
The half that you are not joking about could be the product of some of these players have not been on campus yet. I noticed most of them have Wazzu or high school jerseys on. I could be wrong.Did Campbell take our graphic artist with him? These new commitment graphics are kinda lame (half joking)
Come on now, you know Matt Campbell's 3* players are the best 3* players in the country. We are never going to compete with Coach Jimmy Rogers 3* players. Matt Campbell's 3* players are more nuanced than the current crop of unnuanced player Coach Jimmy Rogers is bringing on board. Please do not take my sarcasm as being directed at you @harimad.3* is 3*, it doesn't matter where they're going. LOL!
I'm not saying Raynor is a can't miss prospect but we could do a lot worse. 3700/26 total yards/touchdowns is nothing to scoff at. Like you said he will need to clean up the INTs but any transfer we will go after will need some refinement. A senior with something to prove, I like this guy enough to come in a compete.Raynor led his team in rush attempts and had 150 more pass attempts than Rocco.
11 INTs are bad, but in my mini film session, the dude loves to chuck and pray. I would guess this would be reigned in a bit in a Roehl-led run first offense.
His biggest issue seems to be he plays like he has the pressure that he has to do it all. Hopefully it wouldn’t the the case here.
We have hired his OC as our QB coach.I’m sure it’s been discussed, but do we have a decent shot at the Ark St QB? Any confirmed contact?
Providing context. Thanks.BTW, of Raynor's 11 INTs, 2 were against Arkansas and 4 against So. Miss. There were six (of 13) games that he did not throw a pick. Southern Miss ranked #1 in the FBS in INTs this year. I'm not defending him, just throwing out some nerdy fun facts. We could use an experienced QB so I wouldn't mind bringing him in.
