With all this money you’d think he’d get some JR/SR overachievers from ‘lesser programs’ that are field ready. Very few 3 star OL are game-day ready as FR.

I thought I’d always appreciate MC…he’s only 2? weeks out and already made me see the error of my beliefs.

I really want to see him crash and burn at pedo state.
I figure it’s best for our narrative if he does 8-4/9-3 every year. If he falls completely flat and does worse the narrative becomes “see? The big 10 is so much harder than the big 12”. If he comes in and wins a title, it becomes “you can’t win at Iowa state and taking the step up is a good decision”.

Hansen strikes me as a damn good college rb.
If I recall right, some here have compared him to a "poor man's" Christian McCafferty.
I'll fully agree with the "poor" end of the equation.
Comparing the two, redefines ludicrous.
Similar power running. It all ends there.
Yes.

Some things you can see on TV. Most you can’t.

I have seen in person some ultra elite running backs.

Without going over the last 45 years of them all, and I could try to list them all. They are Ultra Elite, college and then Pro.

Probably start with Billy Sims , Thurman Thomas. Then Barry Sanders. That kind of elite opposing RBs. And it just goes from there. Of course Troy Davis.

I’ve been to many Ohio State games and many other non-ISU games. I have Seen a lot of Elite RBs.

I will say, Breece Hall Breece Hall was probably Top 4 of the best College RBs I have ever seen. Just the way he runs and in the passing game was incredible for a college player. without the Blown Knee and the purgatory called The Jets, he would’ve been an all-timer.

I only saw CMC run all over Iowa in the Rose Bowl on TV.

Saw CMC for the first time last night in Indy. Just an incredible runner, with speed , power, elusiveness, and vision.

I think the comparison of Hansen to Christian McCaffrey only comes down to their skin color.

Carson Hansen is as you put it, a damn good college Running back….with upside in the passing game.

I would say I probably watched (and this is a complete guess) 60% of every snap Brock Purdy took at Iowa State. home and away. Maybe 80-90% including TV.

I wasn’t that close to examine his mechanics compared to his Iowa State days, but his throws were so freaking perfect, with velocity and timing.

A lot of crossing routes 10-15 yards deep and he would “throw them open”.

Not just on the deep ball, but throw them open on the crossers and posts…..and no offense to the WR group, but it was Juaun Jennings, Kendrick Bourne, and Demarcus Robinson.

Think about that!

Yes, Kittle and CMC are a huge part, but he delivered so many dimes and picked apart a struggling Colts defense better than anyone has so far.

I'd say, "upper middle class+."

Brock has more than proven his worth in the Big Leagues.
Rocco hasn't proven his qb worth at the college level.
Biggest step up for a college level "great" qb, redefines talent+.

For anybody here that watched Brock toss 5 tds vs Indy?
Ask yourself. Will NFL Rocco ever throw 5 tds vs any NFL team?
Lmfao....
Sorry, I meant the post above to be a reply to this.

I’m guessing he’s not going to recruit ISU level players after this year. Which unless you’re a senior transferring to PSU, is a foolish move. I’m guessing the Bandauer’s and other kid’s from the class are being sold a bill of goods out of desperation to cobble a class together.
He will have better recruiting classes than he ever had at ISU for sure, but from what I’ve seen and heard it won’t be packed with high end guys. He’s going to make his classes out of low 4 stars and high 3 stars. Kids that haven’t been told they are a superstar for the last 4 years of their lives. He’s only going to want kids he can control and who will buy into his “process” crap. Time will tell how that will work out for him. Not having Heacock could be a nail in the coffin no one saw coming and could potentially leave ISU in a better spot long term if he flames out.

All these announcements starting off with praying or thanking Jesus just makes me laugh. With so many hungry and sick people in the world I’m so glad he took the time right ahead of his birthday to help 20 year olds announce they want more money to play a game.
If this single post's emoticons doesn't convey the diversity on this board, nothing will.

To think Paul Rhoads and Gene ****ing Chizik left our program in a better place. Good lord.

Who’s excited for next season’s cobbled-together motley crew of mediocre mercenaries? I’m sure they’ll play as hard as they’re paid. Yay.

It would be funny if they end up being more talented and look more organized than we've been accustomed to.

He’s so good, def was underutilized here. Same guy that everyone said his arm was bad, his arm looks pretty damn good now.

First off, if you are going to wade into this arena understand that Yeshua's birthday is not December 25th. His birthday has actually been determined to be September 11th, 3 B.C. That may be more information than you care to know; however, as a Christian, it is my desire to correct this misconception concerning Christ's birthday.

He could be effective but he's 3 inches shorter and 12 pounds lighter than Hansen. An elite trait with Carson was that he could fall forward and gain a half or full yard due to his size/length.
So Hansen is in the portal. Yes, he is a good running back, but the loss of top offensive linemen is more concerning. After all, it took Coach Matt Campbell 10 years to get a competent offensive line.

If he does 8-4/9-3 every year and no conference titles or national titles in 5 to 6 years, Campbell will be gone,

There was a definite shock in the small circle close to the program that Mouser didn't get the job. Schaalhaese got the call as soon as Pollard caught wind of it. He's gonna be a NFL head coach in 3 years so that's a no go. CJR was second.
I personally don't like the direction Pollard is going and he's definitely heard similar frustrations from boosters and supporters.
Mouser is not ready to lead a P4 program. Coach Jimmy Rogers just pulled off a TJ type miracle by taking a complete new roster and led Wazzu to bowl eligible status.
