Klein shouldn't have anything to do with this.

The real comparison needs to be ISU vs Wazzu. Exact same situations yet somehow they were able to be enthusiastic enough to dominate their game yesterday after suffering the catastrophic loss of their coach.
I wasn't the one that brought up Klein in the first place!!

To those players transferring out of ISU, hope you find what you're looking.

To those players staying at ISU, it's your turn to make your mark on this program. You have the opportunity to do great things for the program and take it to another level. Don't let anyone put any limitations on you about how many games you all will win in the upcoming seasons. This is your team -- your program. Prove the doubters wrong.

To those new players coming into this program, welcome. As stated earlier, you have the opportunity to make this program greater than ever.

As a fan, I look forward to giving you my 100% support.

I don't think the WSU situation and ISU is apples to apples either. Rogers spent one year in Pullman, and Campbell spent 10 years here-our players/fans were devastated with the change-I'm guessing most in Pullman were pissed, hence the reactions being different. As fan group, let's just move on,,,..not gonna hate on Campbell no more than I'll hate on Fred because we are so starved for a lifer coach.

I used to live up near Duluth and went to a few of their games, and also became a fan of their hockey team. They have had a good football program for a long time. It's a big step down competition wise, but those are some huge numbers for a tight end. Hope the kid joins the good guys.
He's got every northern P4 after him, so will be interesting to see if CJR can win against the B1G and our peers!

5'11", and 206?

Ehh, pass

What if he's a hybrid LB/S like the Vikings' Josh Metellus? He's listed at 5'11" and 207 lbs. I'd take a Metellus type player, he does everything and does it really well.

You can still be physical at the height and weight. And if I guy tackle, bring him in.

IMO. Pure speculation. Heacock expresses earlier in the season that he is looking to retire. Deon Broonfield is promoted to be the eventual successor at DC. Then the injuries. The 4 game skid. Offense struggles. Maybe Rocco should be replaced. Is Campbell out of gas? Then we win 3 in a row. Some wins not pretty as we struggle. But 8-4 and winning conference record. Good amount of talent returning.

Meanwhile, Penn State is a disaster. They strike out on their first half dozen or so choices for HC. They reach out to Campbell. Campbell knows Heacock is retiring. He can leave Iowa State after a successful season. Move closer to home. Make more money. Have more resources. And an easier path to the CFP every year. Logically you can’t blame Campbell for leaving. It is fair to criticize Campbell for the way he left. Ghosting donors and coaches and players as he privately negotiated his getaway from Ames. Maybe should have done things differently. But IMO Campbell knew he might not get another opportunity like this. And he didn’t want to be talked out of it.

I am disappointed Campbelll isn’t our Bill Snyder. I won’t boo Campbell. Appreciate everything he did. But the departure leaves me feeling jilted and a bit used. Definitely not ready to build statues to Campbell at this time. My loyalties now lie with Coach Jimmy Rogers. That Washington State team was wonderful to watch. And Coach Jimmy Rogers left the staff needed to coach that team to victory. Helluva job by them. The Cougars played with passion. Team play. That’s what I want. Iowa State needs the overachievers and hungry players that fuel our culture. I am enthused for those who stay and build. And to those who leave. Thanks for being Cyclones. Good luck in your careers. Hope it works out for you.
Man, this sums up my thoughts exactly. Well put.
