Makes about as much sense as Mccarney coaching the game. I think Criner is still alive?
So how does every other ******* school that loses a coach manage to make the bowl?

They have the assistants continue as interim. JUST LIKE WHAT ISU could have done, and as said the assistants and coordinators were still here, and willing to coach through the bowl.

The idea of having Mac coach, was nothing more than saying there were plenty of options. In reality the assistants would be there to do most of the coaching you would name Mac basically as the honorary coach, but everyone would know Heacock would be calling the shots. But again that would not be necessary, because we had the assistants willing to step up, like everywhere else does.

Its insane people continue this narrative that we had noone to coach, that is just absolutely not true. We had the same that any of the other teams playing in bowls this year that the HC went elsewhere, including, Wazzu, LSU, Pedo St, Ol Miss, etc etc. But for some reason some people want to claim our situation was different? No No it wasnt.

I wasn’t in the room so who knows, some combination of players, coaches and admin ended up not wanting to play.

Then why did not they not stay, ifs it was so easy of a decision. Once Campbell took the PSU job, everyone was moving on to their next job, just like most people would.
None of them had left yet, when they voted. They all were willing to stay through the bowl, but when they decided not to continue through the bowl, why would they stay after that.

None of the assistants went with Campbell immediately when he left.

Hell I think Heacock is still in Ames now!

How do you know any of that, mentally they moved on when Campbell left, if ISU had hire one of the the asst. coaches, then the bowl game might have happened, but once they went another direction, the bowl game was toast. Some players will stay, most will look into the portal and see what else is out there. They are still here because they had to finish up the semester of classes.

Should not have been a choice.

You have an obligation to the team, the school, the conference, the fans, to fulfil.

JP should have said its not an option we are required to play and thats that.
Just a weak a** look for this team of culture and process. So all that was just talk. I take it that Rogers and his players won't be as lame as Campbell’s coaches and players.

There's alot of things I dont want to do on a daily basis but power through.

Free vacation to somewhere it would cost us thousands of dollars to take our family and they decided no.
Being in the position to not do **** you don’t want to do is definitely enviable. Again though, I wasn’t there so I don’t know exactly how it all went down.

Their feelings got hurt so they took their toys and went home. Its nothing more complicated than that.

ISU and KSU I guess were the only ones who couldn't multi-task a transition and bowl game at the same time.

I mean I wish ISU would've played the bowl game as well; but I think these two teams also have another commonality which may have played a role.

Didn’t Williams say on one of his “podcasts” that the coaches were willing but it was purely a players’ decision?

Is that not true?

For what it is worth, I’m 100% OK with the players making the decision even though as a fan I’d have liked to watched a bowl game.

Did you ever think that most of the coaches did not want to stay, but wanted to get started on their new job. Most of the teams that lost a head coach, did not take most of his staff with him to the new job, Campbell is taking most of them.

The players and staff decided not to play a bowl game, get over it and let's move on.
Precisely.

ISU & KSU turned it down because of coaching change. Notre Dame because of CFP rejection.

But a number of 5-7 teams turned down bowl bids: Kansas, UCF, Baylor, Rutgers Florida State, Auburn and Temple.

Among 5-7 teams, only Auburn hired a new coach. So it's interesting the other 5-7 decided to end their season and not use the additional practice time to develop young players. Maybe some of this traditional "ideas" are losing importance in the portal, pay-for-play era.

So...KState went to a bowl?

Look…I got $50k on ‘Monster Mudder Horseasouraus’ in the 4th…he’s a 8k/1 shot…if this hits I’m taking care of all ISU’s NIL needs.

The Powerball didn’t work out Saturday…but I feel a lot better about this one!

Clydesdales are fast…right? They say he’s the fastest Clydesdales ever. It’s a lock.
Only if you dangle a Budweiser in front of him, with the dog nipping at his …

Did I say they did? I dont give a **** about KState, but I find it just as much BS that they didnt either.

I dont aspire to be like KSU, and just because they are a bunch of quitters doesnt mean we should be.

There was something like 6 other schools just this year that lost a coach in one way or another that still went to bowls, with interim coaches, from their assistants etc. And it has been the same every year before this too, schools lose/fire a coach, and they have managed to finish out the season/bowl.

**** KSU, I dont give a **** about those whiney crybaby purple pussies.
