I'm waiting for a splash commit from a linebacker. JR will use multiple groupings and there are going to be a lot of reps for linebackers under him. Linebackers will have a blast playing for him.

Theirs already 3 linebacker commits plus the returnees. I doubt we see another portal linebacker commit.

Would I do the same for Iowa State if I had his money? Also yes.
Wow. I transferred in; I don't remember if I had orientation or if I chose to skip it. I was attending marching band practices in the summer before classes began so I already had the fight song drilled into my head as well as the alma mater. I doubt very many have "For I For S Forever" memorized or know the actual lyrics to "Don't Know the Words."
Indiana took safeties from Cincinnati & one other school. I don’t know that we exactly beat them out, but he’s a home run get.

That’s a risk with any coach that succeeds here. I prefer that over a coach no one wants because we suck.
We were worried Campbell would bounce after 2017 and we ended up keeping him for 10 years. Let things play out.
I think every school in the Big 12 should be worried about that with the exception of possibly BYU. Unless you have a guy that was born and raised into that school like ASU and even he might get tired of just not having the money to keep up with the P2. We will see if Tech can keep up every year with the 1 donor who is trying.

If he truly wants to stay near South Dakota you'd be worried about Nebraska or Minnesota. Or perhaps he'd go home to a program in the Arizona neighborhood?

During his high school recruitment, Peppers’ got his most interest from ISU, SDSU (CJR), and NDSU (Coach Roehl). I have to imagine that he is right where he wants to be during his recovery.
Move one more time, and his wife may hit the portal!
We have to find resources to keep the program funded. Maybe we didn't have enough time to figure things out in time to keep Campbell, but if JFR has the same kind of success, the same pressures will be there. I really don't know how the Big 12 media deal keeps programs like ours afloat given the gap between ISU and P2 teams, but it is critically important to figure something out. It does seem like it is going to be discussed in the state legislature this year, for better or worse.
