Official ISU vs Texas Autopsy Thread (Post-Game)

Once Texas scored their first touchdown, it was like a switch went off and our guys were done. They got down by 7 and that was it. It was pretty sad watching no effort today. I knew we wouldn't win this game, but come on give some heart out there when you are playing. They just got nationally embarrassed out there today and people wonder why we are not on tv more. No wins results in no tv games unless our opponent is an elite team.

I don't think the switch went off after the first UT TD. I think the guy got up and walked over to the switch after that first short ISU punt, put his finger on the switch after the first UT TD, and then turned the switch off after ISU drove 70 yards down the field and missed a short FG.

The game was on at 11:30 AM CDT on FSN. Hopefully not too many people saw it...

Embarrasing.

I don't remember the last time half the stadium was gone that quick. I had 5 rows all to myself in the student section right after halftime.

P.S. It's been 5 weeks since I've had to see those uniforms and I don't miss them. Next year cannot get here soon enough.

I have had season tickets for 4 years and this is the first time I have left a game early. I'm sorry but it was verrrrry disappointing.

I think we can stop calling him Ace.

We have a significant talent deficiency out there-but I will be back in place next Saturday doing my job

Ok, tu was #23 we were #99 so they were 76 places better than us. We lost by 53 so we covered!

We played like the worst team in the B12 today and one of the worst in the country.
1-11 is a REAL possibility.

Oh well at least we won't have to see those crappy brown uniforms again for 3 years!

This was the first time I left early too. But when you take your worse beating since 97 when we got beat 77-14 by Nebraska, I think that about covers any excuse I might need.

I fail to see a positive in this.

1-11 is a real possibility?

0-12 was a real possibility! We just escaped it by beating Iowa.

There really isn't much to say about this game, except that our team is TERRIBLE.
Quite honestly, one of the worst in the country.

And you know, being that this is an autopsy thread, someone should include time of death so I will.

ISU Time of Death
11:15 Left in the 2nd Quarter.

Team was on life support from 11:54 left in the 1st. Finally pulled the plug after Culbertson's FG prevented the shut-out.

They marched the ball down our throat at will all day, but we lost all chance we had of keeping it a game, when we only came up with 3 stinking points on about 150 yards of offense our 2nd and 3rd drives of the game!

How many recruits witnessed this debacle? Chiz will never get it done without a huge influx of talent, and today probably lost us at least 4 or 5 potentials. That worries me a lot more than the embarassement of getting our a** kicked big time.

I sat behind the Texas bench today and I could not believe the size of all of their lineman. We got manhandled on the line. When the offense came off the field they were not even breathing very hard. It looked like a spring practice. I left early also first time in many years!

I'm a little more disappointed in the crowd. JTS was filled to the brim, and it was a chore from the very beginning to get the crowd into it. But that all stems from performance, and ISU could not get it done where it counted.

What a waste of a day.

I second this that the crowd didnt bother to show up either. early 1st qtr, and the crowd was far less than deafening on 3rd downs for TU. i didnt catch the toal attendance during the game, but JTS looked 95% full. Good showing for a national TV game, but whatever. Myself and the guy next to me did get a slight relief from the game as we saw nebraska was getting pounded 38-0.

and they ran outta hot chocolate in the concession stand i went to. man oh man. i was frozen to the bone at halftime and really needed to warm up.

You should have worn your snowpants.

wise words. today seemed a little hard to dress for cause even though it was forecasted for rainy 50's temps can be decent. i thought i over dressed with thermal shirt with a wife beater over it(tank top) and then a regular long sleeve and a bret myer jersey. yeah i was still chilly.

and i had a disposable poncho in my back pocket incase of rain.

I wore Jeans and a Tshirt with a Hoodie, I did not feel cold once the game got going.

We sit in row 22 directly behind the visitors bench and I was noticing the same thing. These guys had some of the biggest legs I've ever seen.

All the programs with the die-hard fans had a successful program at one time.

Winning comes before tradition, not the other way around. Like it or not, that is the way it is.

Do you think that Cizik got fooled a lot today? It looked to me that he was really expecting the Longhorns to run a lot and the safeties got caught crashing in to support the run several times. The pass defense today was, well, not even there today.

Just think though, their strength and conditioning coach is now our strength and conditioning coach.

Our safeties clearly don't understand the concept of the cover-2 scheme. What part of "don't let anyone deeper than you" do they not understand? It's like watching a high school team run around out there. We were letting UT guys around wide open all day. Embarrassing.

Also, can we please dump the fake pass left then spin and throw to Scales for a 6-yard loss. It didn't fool them the first time, and it certainly didn't fool them the second time. And either teach Meyer how to run the option or don't run it at all. When was the last time he made a defender commit before deciding what to do with the ball? This team gets harder to watch every week. Luckily for most, there won't be any more televised games this season to torture ISU fans.
