There are 2 or 3 teams in the MVC that have accomplished more than ISU has ever sniffed in the NCAA tourney.

Also, I would rather finish 1st in the MAAC than consistently finishing 10th-12th in a 12 team conference. Btw, where is ISU going to go when the Big 12 breaks apart and they can't ride anyone's coattails?

I'd like to know who those 2 or 3 teams are. Please don't tell me UNI is one of them...or that you're talking about success in the 1960's or something.

As far as conference realignment, maybe you better stop talking about things you know nothing about. And maybe a fan of a team that nearly had its whole athletic department shut down this summer (and only didn't because us taxpayers are covering their bills) should be careful about throwing stones.

I've never seen more of a homer fan base....I will leave this board now. PLEASE don't pull a typical ISU and lose 15-20 games this season. We need this W to stay out of the useless win column come March.

The only thing you'll need in March is an open McLeod Center so that you can host an NIT game. And even that is pushing it. BTW, if losing 20 games is "typical ISU", when is the last time it happened?

The Big East? I don't see the mighty Cyclones from Ames, Iowa getting phone calls from Georgetown and UConn anytime soon. The MAC or WAC is more like it....and you still won't win the conference.

As for my 11th best team in the Big 12...my stats will be present at the beginning of March when you are sitting at home AGAIN.
Oh and btw i see you getting 16 maybe 17 wins this year in a half *** conference so i guess you should be soooooooo proud to be a panther

Re: What an awful game

Lucas gets away with a few fouls a game but truthfully he gets hammered about every time he touches the ball and very few get called. The officiating crew tonight was not a normal crew, the little grey haired official is very good (final 4 official) the other two I have seen before and are towards the bottom of the officiating pool, however UNI got screwed just as much as ISU did, and UNI has a very good chance of making in the tourney.

I love when UNI fans run football or conference smack. Always a fan favorite.

Plenty of UNI fans trolling. I'm surprised they'd waste their time since we suck so bad, etc.

Man, same thing in volleyball. They're on the board. Nice season, whatever, we have some wonderful parting gifts, and we beat them.

Re: What an awful game

ISU lost a close game on the road even after McD ran this program into the ground to a team that puts a ton of importance on this game. ISU is ahead of my expectations for the year at this point. If ISU makes the NIT this year Hoiberg should get a lifetime contract.

Re: What an awful game

ISU playing to UNI's level is why this game was lost.

Re: What an awful game

Honestly, between the lack of shotmaking from both teams and the officiating calling every little touch I had a very hard time watching the game. It was extremely boring and just flat out bad. It was like listening to nails on a chalkboard while watching paint dry, with brief interruptions when a fly lands on it and flies away again. If I didn't know either team, no way in hell I would have watched more then 2 minutes of that game, tops.

Statistically, this team was due. Missed the same jumpers that previously found their mark. Fact: We are going to see lot bigger, talented post players down the road. The way the mullet-in-progress Irishman changed the game inside leads me to believe that foul trouble might play a huge role on what this team can do in the future. I can handle off nights from the floor. (No real offense from UNI, which played some superb D at times) I expect a little home-cookin' on road games. But that fact remains that this team is not very deep, and kinda small.

For this team to win, they need run.

Pleased personally about one thing...

At one point last year I was really upset because I had lost my passion for Iowa State hoops. It seemed like we knew what was coming and when it hit, it didn't hurt. At least for me.

I was passionate about this game tonight and the loss really hurts. It's not a good feeling, but it is, if you know what I mean...

Seriously? ISU hasnt proven anything in basketball yet, but they are "up and coming"? The ISU football team has made strides the past few seasons, but are far from "up and coming". They are competitive. UNI's basketball team is far from "going down the crapper" and their football team has made the playoffs quite often lately. A lot of the ISU fans have this complex that they are superior to all things UNI, when in reality, UNI has had ISU's number more often than not in the past 10 years in both basketball and in football.

Its time to move on to Cal.

Wish I was, sorry, but just tired of hearing you guys slam the kids that play at UNI. Hope they don't read this board and find out how bad of a team they are. Obviously those players aren't good enough to play for ISU or Iowa(or they would have recruited them, right?), but they play hard, work their ***** off and believe in a system of basketball that rewards the team not the individual. Sorry that it's ugly and hard for you to watch, but I'll take these type of kids and winning "weak" conference championships and NCAA tourney games anyday. I know it must really suck to lose to these guys year in and year out, but give some credit where credit is due.
