I honestly thought we would win when we cut it to 5 in the first half, but we managed to score 5 fewer points in the second half than we did in the first. How the hell can that be? smh
Oh well. Whenever we get knocked out, I remind myself that I hate this sport. Back to ice hockey until summer.

Being the first higher seed to lose in the first game is hard to swallow though.

After watching the post-game interviews, gotta feel for the guys on the team. It's not like they purposefully didn't make shots today, it just wasn't our game today. This group had a bunch of standup guys who didn't resort to any chippyness when it could have been easy to do so down 20+ today.
Holmes and Gabe both gave tremendously classy post game interviews today with Eric . Holmes's was exceptionally good. IMO.

It's not a positive takeaway from today but it is a positive. Two years ago the embarrassment was because we had just gone 0-18 in the Big 12. So. Well. You know just sayin'.
It's the ncaa tournament. People have already forgot about an 11 beating a 6. Nobody cares
So who do you think we should have turned to score? Jones, Kunz? We are just not that talented and TJ overachieved.
I’m good with cutting the kids some slack. It’s not like they don’t want to make shots.
I think it’s fair to question roster construction while watching all these mid majors with kids that can shoot threes and are no less athletic than Holmes or Gabe. Especially when the two losses - Hunter and Williams also couldn’t shoot. Of course every coach wants athletic guys that can also shoot. Where the tough choices come are when you recruit a guy that’s maybe less athletic but can shoot vs an athlete that can’t shoot.
