Did anyone notice they said Hunter was down but then said the ruling on the field stands, Texas ball?
Yes, I posted this earlier.

Did they go into the review under the impression they had ruled it a fumble or ruled that he was down? It makes a big difference, because they need indisputable evidence to overturn whatever the call was on the field. Before he went to review, the head ref announced that the ruling on the field was Dekkers was down.

None of us should be surprised the ruling went against us there. Same as it ever was.

Didn't the ref initially say the ruling on the field is down by contact? Or am I misremembering that?

This game does not boil down to that turnover. We had so many opportunities and failed to execute in big moments. The turnover before the half was costly, and the drop within the 10 yd line at the end there was really the game changer. You can't be upset with the refs when you've shot yourself in the foot multiple times.

This isn't how it works.

No team plays perfect.

A game is the matchup of one team and their strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes, vs another team and their strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes.

Outside factors from officiating that effect the natural result of that matchup absolutely can be complained about. And calls like that, at that point in the game, have massive effect.
