***Official Game Day Thread - ISU vs. aTm***

Refs get involved in a tight game. I'm shocked. That PI call where half the players are standing around was fricking incredible. Sort of like making a 3 pointer while the other team is shooting free throws.

And then we have a guy who has a step on the A&M CB who is clearly tying up the arms of our WR and never turns his head and the ref calls nothing. Ref was right on top of it, but CPR went nuts on that non-call. I suppose the ref could have called that hand-fighting IF the CB turns his head - if the CB is not making a play on the ball, you simply have to call that.

Was the defensive delay of game shown on tv? I suspect they were showing a replay.Washington kicking the ball out of a ref's hands? Is that what you are talking about?

Yes, from what I saw, he was walking backwards watching the signals from the coaches and it was totally unintentional. Was it?

I'll watch the second half in anticaption of us getting a couple of horrific calls go our way.
What are the chances of that happening?

Only after aTm has a very comfortable lead.

Right now, even though we have 7 penalties for 45 yards, A&M has 3 for 25 yards. I think 3 penalties for our opposition is probably more than Texas, Baylor, and MU combined.

Not sure. They only showed it on replay 1 time. He was pretty ****** about getting the penalty.

He definitely didn't intend to do it. The problem was though, it was the right call. Weather you intended it or not, you kicked the ball when a ref was trying to pick it up. The real problem is our lack of focus when we need it most. Pay attention when you are on the field.

He should be. He wasn't even looking and the ref just took exception for no good reason unless the replay tells me different, that is what I saw.

So, any time you bump/touch an official, it should be 15 yards- right?

Definitely.

I'm glad the defense has an emotional streak — it can have advantages. Too many mental penalties -- or lack of focus -- can negate that.
