I've already watched more World Cup this year than I have soccer in my entire life combined...and the US hasn't even played yet. While it can be slow, I find myself enjoying it more and more each match.
Can we basically say this is a must win or at least a must draw match for the US? With the difficulty on the group, it sure seems like it.

Will Germany keep pressing, or will they slow it down? Any fan of the USMNT wants to see Germany keep pouring them in. Crush them.
Good news is Portugal never looked too dangerous, even with 11. Definitely beatable. Germany really looks like they'll finish with 9 points so take care of business today and the group doesn't look as intimidating as it did this morning.
If Germany completely castrates Portugal, Ghana isn't a 'must win', but We need at least one point out of it for sure.
Germany sticking it in Portugal repeatedly will help us but I still think Ghana is a must win. We'll be lucky to get a point off of Germany, which means if we draw to Ghana we'll likely have to beat Portugal, which is doable but certainly not as easy as Germany is making it look.
While I played soccer growing up I think it's a lot like baseball in that it's really hard for casual watchers to know who is good and who is just okay.

Yep. Tie Ghana. Beat a depleted and psychologically damaged Portugal, then play Germany closer than Ghana does.
I still consider Ghana a "must win". I'd much rather face Germany with both of us having bids to the knockout wrapped up and playing for the group than needing some kind of result against Germany to be safe.
Yeah...don't disagree. That said, with what is happening to Portugal right now, where I thought there was no way for the US to advance without beating Ghana, the door is now open with a draw.
I'm just going to assume that Germany is 0 points, a draw is gravy, a win would be unbelievable. We need at minimum 4 points from the other 2 games and of the two Ghana is the one we're more likely to win IMO, I wouldn't want to go into the Portugal game knowing we need a win to survive.
We could beat Portugal if they play like they did today. They looked very shaky and never made too many chances. Add that to the depleted back line and USA could get 3 from the game.
I haven't used FIFA this year so not quite sure. I'd say ESPN gamecast would be the other way to go (go to espn homepage, scroll over the game and select gamecast). You can then choose which is better
