There seems to be a lot of illogical arguments in this thread. If restrictor plates make all the cars equal, and the track is the same for every racer, then isn't the largest variable the drivers themselves? And in that case, wouldn't Danica finishing 8th indicate that she was a better driver than ~80% of the field? Maybe I'm missing something here, I'm not exactly a huge race fan, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Pretty hard to argue against Jimmie Johnson being the best driver in the sport, so no one discounts his win. Yet Danica finishes 8th (after beating 42 other drivers for the pole) and somehow she "got lucky"? Does not compute.

She wasnt necessarily lucky, but with how the race went she didnt have to do anything but follow the car ahead of her. There was almost no excitement in this race (big wrecks, pack racing). It was bascially everyone get in a line and finish some laps.
She was lucky in the fact that a lot of major contenders were knocked out (Stewart, Busch, Kenseth, Kahne, Harvick).
I don't think anyone's threatened by her. I mean, I don't think she will be taking my job anytime soon. People are noting the fact she has won once and saying that doesn't justify the attention she gets.
You are a moron. She does not deserve to be racing full time in NASCAR's premier series. She was an average at best INDY car driver and was down right awful in the Nationwide series last year. She is at the top because she is a good looking female that is very marketable. No one is threatened by her. If I was Tony Stewart, I would want her racing for me too because she is going to make me a lot of money. I would also make sure she was given the best crew and resources available because if she runs well (like Daytona), she is making you that much more money with people wanting to sponsor her. If she had actually proved to be a good driver in the past, your argument might be valid, but the fact is she was not a good driver. If you have ever watched her race in the past, you would know that she is out of control most of the time and reckless because she is not a good driver. She causes wrecks in almost every one of her races. She did a fantastic job at Daytona, but there is very little skill involved at super speedways. Especially with this new car.
Because restrictor plate racing does not make racing equal; it remove almost all the variables that make racing racing, in essence the whole word racing is completely neutered. Then you end up with the product that get force fed to us here. I know you have to race within the venue but restrictor plate racing is just terrible.

Everytime somebody would try to pass on the inside, she would move between two different lanes. My friends and I were surprised she didnt cause any wrecks. Its only a matter of time she ****s up, and somebody retaliates.
I dont necessarily agree with this statement. Restrictor plate racing today sucks, but back when they had pack racing and all 43 drivers were within a second and a half of each other it was very exciting. I loved the races when there were 85 lead changes between 38 drivers, made for an exciting race, but then they made changes to the car. II understand they have to look out for the drivers, but they need to keep it exciting.
Like when she pulled off pit road in front of everyone, biff didnt have any kind words. Next time she tried, Earnhardt and the biff pushed her down the yellow.
and jambalya, anyone thats a moran on the track gets treated that way in this redneck good ole boys club. Dont be stupid when racing with the pros, you have to earn your stupidity or your just a problem.

I remember one time when Jr. just cut her off coming out of the pits. I found that quite funny.
that pit road thing was just dumb-and then she tried it two more times. Didn't she have some big beef with Hornish last year? Stuff like that is why no one went with her when it counted. Rookies usually get dumped anyway, and rookies who are ******* people off get dumped faster. Gotta try and keep her nose clean and not cause trouble or it'll be a long season for her.
