Well since I'm one of them, I find it annoying because she's literally done nothing to earn it and Jr. hates most of that attention that yup, he got because his dad died. He doesn't go pose for Playgirl to up his media presence.
I understand where you are coming from and Jr has certainly done more than Danica will ever likely do. But for the past 5-6 years, Jr hasn't been relevant at all (I realize the last year or so has been much better). Yet he gets all of the attention from both the fans and media.
I laugh at the jealousy. She parlayed her popularity into a goldmine for herself.
She single-handily saved INDY 10 years ago after it was on life support
Crowds and sponsorships wained at NASCAR after the 2008 economic meltdown. Patrick has helped that industry too the last couple years.
Patrick is getting interviewed after placing 8th becasue she made history for a female in a good-ol boys' southern male sport run and watched by a bunch of sexist rednecks.....and jealous females
Besides---who the hell wants to watch Ryan Newman or Greg Biffle get interviewed? TV execs know Patrick is a big part of NASCAR's future in the next ten years
lol, if you think I'm jealous of her, you're so wrong. I'm disappointed more than anything.
For you people who have ZERO sense of history and perspective, for Patrick to enter NASCAR full-time this year and IMMEDIATELY win the POLE---is fricking amazing (as a female to boot)
Love watching strong females threaten the ballsacks of ignorant males

I get my back up when I feel like I'm being lumped in with the bandwagon fans. I was never a fan of Sr. and likely wouldn't have been because he's like Kyle Busch and I don't like him. I think Jr. would be the first to tell you he'd be more than happy to never get a mention. He's never going to be a guy like Brad who plays up the social media. He just wants to race - the last couple years I've really noticed that he's gotten better at his post-race interviews. Seems much more confident and comfortable than in the past. I get annoyed when they him or any driver nonstop when they aren't doing anything to warrant it - which obviously isn't something that Dale or Danica can solely be in control of. I guess I feel like she's trying so hard to get attention.....lots of sexy ads/promotions, getting a divorce and now conveniently dating a fellow rookie of the year contender, when she should just let her talent speak for her.
Her doing her stuff is not different than Jr doing Wrangler stuff.
Jr. isn't posing half-naked (sadly) in those
That would make for a strange Wrangler ad...
"Yo, guys, check out how comfortable those jeans are that I'm not wearing".
Love Danica half-nakedJr. isn't posing half-naked (sadly) in those
For you people who have ZERO sense of history and perspective, for Patrick to enter NASCAR full-time this year for the first time and IMMEDIATELY win the POLE for the DAYTONA 500---is fricking amazing (as a female to boot)

this isn't 1955. Betty Crocker has left the building
lol, if you think I'm jealous of her, you're so wrong. I'm disappointed more than anything.
Being "successful" at Daytona/Talladega completely different than any other track. With the restrictor plate, it equalizes everybody. Wait till we get a few races in at "real" tracks, then we will see how good Danica is.

:twitcy:another threatened dude...... chill out. she ain't apologizing cuz she 's not home cooking you dinner.
If it's so "EASY", why didn't Michael waltrip with 35 years experience win the pole?
gawd the excuses sound like they're from Hawk fans
LMAO

I thought she was too passive at the end too. But she ran so much better than I ever expected. She ran Top 5 about 50% and Top 10 the other 50%. I think she was scared to make a mistake at the end that would cost her that good run. But she's a rookie and will learn from that. All in all, I was really impressed with her today.
I thought Danica was the story of the day outside of the wreck that collected Harvick, Stewart, and Kahne who were all favorites to win. Other than that, the race was extremely boring watch them "race" single file for 99% of the race. And I'm an avid NASCAR fan saying that. The Nationwide and Truck races were much more entertaining. And that's sad.
