Maryland has a cash cow in under armor but they are still struggling, they just cut 7 sports..There is no way they can afford that exit fee right now without some help

You dont need to remind me Under Amor's founder is a Maryland Alum/ booster but did he ever say he was spending all his money on Maryland's athletics?? I didnt get that memo....What type of return on investment will he get?? I know this guy built his program off Maryland athletics but I highly doubt hes so thankful he will give them ALL his money, and even if he did I'm sure he would be pumped to have all his money spent on getting out of the ACC which maryland has built great bball rivalries with Duke and UNC just to get to the big ten to play northwestern, purdue, etc. in football?

You look at the Big East though, of those teams. Who has been D1 for more than 15 or so years? Louisville? Why should terrible schools like UConn, SF, Cincy, Temple, SMU, Memphis even be in this equation? All these schools have been CUSA or D2 schools in football forever.

MWC vs CUSA was set to be REALLY good before this Big East coast to coast mess took off.

You'd have had two 10-12 team leagues with BYU eventually being part of it, with a title game. That winner would have had a big time feel almost every season.

Now if they do this both those leagues are so bloated from adding members when the teams left for the Big East. OLD DOMINION is scheduled to join the CUSA for all sports. The bottom rungs of this thing are almost as fascinating as the top.

Any chance Texas is still in Play for the Big 10? Add the smaller market teams first so Texas can't bring their Baggage (Tech) with them.

I think it sounds like they would welcome Boise State and San Diego back with open arms.
Nevermind you're right. I read the part that said they liked 10 schools, but didn't see the other part about letting Boise and San Diego back in.

I've never understood it. Texas has pretty much refused to ever play a November game in Lincoln or Ames since the start of the Big 12...now they're going to leap at the chance to play in the frigid midwest five times a year in conference play? (It's been long enough that it's not just chance.)

I get why the Big Ten would obviously want them, but short of the Big 12 collapsing, the SEC saying NO, and independence not being profitable I don't see why Texas would ever join the Big Ten. The Pac 16 made much more sense when that was the rumor.

On top of all of this there's an undefeated Big Ten team right now that's only pulling a 3.25 BCS computer average because Big Ten SOS is so weak. The conference sucks so bad at football that they're going to struggle placing teams in a top 4 or top 8. The way things are trending Big 12 and SEC teams will have as much luck with one loss in a 4 or 8 team playoff as unbeaten Big Ten teams. It's the minor leagues and Maryland and Rutgers cement that.
