No you don't.

Fourmile creek is WAY beyond its banks. Wish I could get a pic, but there's really no good way for me to do it unless I'm in the passenger seat heading east on 36th.

4 mile creek does not go through otter does it? Or are you thinking Briarwood?

Every time one of these storms goes through, I am thankful that we moved to a house on the top of a hill where the sump pump never runs. Water in your basement is a miserable feeling of dread and powerlessness. I never want to deal with that again.

What do you even do when that happens, call a flood restoration company?

It’s happened to me before. Pull any carpet to save it, get fans going, towels everywhere, and dry out as quick as you can. Depends on how bad it gets, you might need new drywall. Afterwards, invest in a good sub pump and a back up system

Only 6 tenths at my house in Monticello. My folks house 5 miles north had 2.3. Crazy

My town in southern Wisconsin. Was sitting at the bar having lunch when the warning came out and saw it was headed right towards here. Rotation mostly broke up by the time I took the pic.

It’s almost up to my pond deck. Normally the deck is about a foot and a half above the water.

I just got a new sump put a week ago, doing research Zoeller sounds like the best brand you can get so that's what I did. It did fine last night and continues to run; slightly paranoid seeing more storms in the forecast tonight though.

I drove from Ankeny to Ames this morning and took HWY 69. 4mile Creek looks more like a lake where it crosses under 69. Now we get to deal with my mother-in-law's flooded basement on the east side of Ankeny.

See that little white spot? That's where I live. This is one of those times when I'm so grateful we have a walkout basement instead of a traditional basement. Our sump pump has been humming, but we're all dry.

Ran out on the high trestle trail this morning. A lot of trees down on the trail. Looks worse just a few miles north of Ankeny, in line with Polk City.

From the Briarwood perspective in Ankeny, this is worse than it was in 2018, which is hard to imagine. Golf course taking some heavy damage.
