Other than that I like it but yeah wind wise my experience has not been reliable above 30. For instance so far this morning in Marion it claims only one gust above 35 (it reached 50 indicated). I have found the rain sensor to be surprisingly accurate compared to other reviews (it does use machine smoothing etc as it looks at other Tempest stations around you but I have never been more than a few hundredths to a tenth off of other nearby COCRAHS reports). The rest of the station is rock solid IMO just the ultrasonic wind sensor has room for improvement. This is good info, I was just looking at getting a Tempest station... Damn Ryan Hall marketing
My only hope is if it's going to snow that much that the ground is thawed enough to soak it in.
Nevermind...I'm an idiot. For Albert Lea, yesterday 5-8" forecast for Sunday, now 1-2'.
read the line you quoted againWhat are you talking about? LIterally every twin cities station is saying southern MN is still in the minimum or 6-10 range. with just north and a little east of albert lea 12-18
I did just realize it was inches and feet and I am an idiotread the line you quoted again

Or send her, and tell her to stay put until Tuesday, and enjoy more freedom!Currently trying to talk my wife out of visiting friends in the Twin Cities this weekend...
Her friend has her convinced that it will be a non-issue because Minnesota is better at clearing snow.Or send her, and tell her to stay put until Tuesday, and enjoy more freedom!
We're at the tourney in KC and watching the weather closely since we're planning on driving back to MN tomorrow morning. Eek.Currently trying to talk my wife out of visiting friends in the Twin Cities this weekend...

Weather station placement is a big deal for accurate readings. I have seen stations that show big variations in rainfall and wind because of location. Under a downspout overflow and in the wind tunnel that occurs between buildings are a couple of issues. My one complaint with my Tempest station is it does not handle strong winds well. anything over 30ish is sus.
That’s gonna be a nasty blizzard up there. So glad it’s up there. For Albert Lea, yesterday 5-8" forecast for Sunday, now 1-2'.
