***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

60 Degrees in Des Moines tomorrow.

This is 6 days out yet so lot can change but Ryan Hall saying possibility of Ice and/or Snow on Saturday the 14th for the Kansas Game. 7:02 mark.

I'm going down to Dallas on the 16th for work. Current forecast shows mid 70s.

Quite a few oak trees here and it seems as winter proceeds I always wait for "a nicer day" to trim/prune them which often leads to me missing that window in which that job should get done. Spent yesterday on a ladder with a sawzall on a beautiful day waking up realizing what bad shape I'm in. A few more to tackle today (albeit in windier conditions) but it will be fun shaping the younger one's future and easing mowing under the older ones. Not an every year necessity but what better weather to catch up especially with the lack of snow cover.

Wife and I cleaned out a floor bed in front of the house yesterday, and blew all the leaves from it into the back yard, to get them out of sight. Have to clean out the back floor bed today, less work than yesterday, but my hamstrings and back are sore this morning from all the bending over. Getting old is not for the weak of heart.

You'll start to see everyone come in line with a southern shift. May continue south a bit but I don't think it goes back north much, if at all. Not much support for that at all. Thanks for the share @wxman1

Almost went golfing yesterday but decided against it because playing off nothing but dead grass and cart path only didn't sound like a great time. Plus I bought new batteries for my cart and haven't put them in yet as I didn't want to have them sit through the winter in the cart shed.

North Shore received 3 feet of snow yesterday

I recently turned down a job in Duluth and my wife is going to say "I told you so" when I show her this.

Received about 8 inches of snow in south metro of Minneapolis yesterday. Forecast was a couple of inches. The roads were awful. My wife left her mother's house in the north metro at 4:30 and arrived home just before 8:00. 3 and a half hours to go about 30 miles. It was an absolute crazy evening commute in the MSP area yesterday

Me thinks someone in central Iowa is going to get quite a bit more than is forecast. And forecast totals keep going up. Good thing March is right around the corner. Shouldn't be on the ground very long.
