What kind of coaching pedigrees did Wayne Tinkle and Kevin freaking Keatts have in comparison?

Hell, Keatts was getting fired right up until they won the ACC Tournament.
Tinkle kind of is/ was to Oregon State what Fran was to Iowa, aside from the one deep NCAA run. Just moderately successful enough to not get fired for a really long time. Had a son play a lot of minutes for him etc. I do think his son was actually pretty good though unlike any of Frans.

I saw his son play in high school. Wayne Tinkle was coaching the Montana Griz and his son played high school ball at Hellgate High School in Missoula. I saw him play at Oregon State against Iowa State (Haliburton led Cyclones). He is much more athletic than any of Fran's sons.

There is some potential for any of us to feel this way, now that he's playing for a conference rival. If he continues to positively develop, I think a lot will be a little regretful he was told to/ elected to walk away from the program. Now if all he is ever going to be is the 6 and 4 guy we saw at NM last year, no biggy.
I hate to break it to you, but if he's only avg 6 and 4 playing in a G5 league, he won't avg much more, if at all, playing in the best conference in america. In 2 games (19 total mins) vs P5 teams this year - Nebraska and Miss State - he scored a total of 6 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. "positively develop" is a very kind thing to say about him and theres a strong chance, he just isnt good - but looked good on his HS film because he was 7'1 245 in HS, playing against weak competition in SD

How do you feel about Mullins returning to UCONN. He’s better than Milan.
It’s great for Milan as Mullins was probably the only similar player ahead of him on the draft boards.

Christian Anderson looking like he’s returning - along with Blackwell and Juke Harris looking like they are pure transfers - helps as well.

Every one of those that returns to school makes it more likely Milan stays in the draft.

Creighton made one of the worst investments a team has made. Rumors were upwards of $1.5-$2m for a dude that average 5 and 4 on a bad team.

I thought he was worth it at the time though. I never thought Dix was worth all the money. That guy was so hot and cold. This dude is a big. I am thinking he was in the wrong system on Creighton. We shall find out next year for sure.

Rock wasn’t good enough to play here. But at 7’1 that can decently move I don’t fault TJ bringing him in early to accelerate his development. It didn’t happen, nothing against the kid. But in this day and age you can’t afford to sit a kid 2-3 years while he develops and costs money.

So how many of those guys are staying in school because the NIL is better than 2nd round money?

I hate the NBA game, so I’m biased…but I’d definitely take = money to play college ball and hang with coeds vs 82 + games, living on the road, and maybe not making a team so you’re now G league or playing in Europe

A lot of people on this site wanted Dix last year. Still probably want Dix today ;)

Although I didn't compete in sports post-high school, if I could have stayed in college for equal pay vs. working a job, I might not have left for a long time.

I'm pretty sure "I'm an NBA player" would have plenty of coeds throwing themselves at you

This PFW transfer Houston got reminds me of Keshon. This kid might be a problem.

I’m not sure about athleticism or potential - but he had similar stats to Prather in a similar league - a bit more scoring volume got him over the 20 ppg threshold.

Kinda crazy to be at IPFW for 3 years and have your scoring go 6 -> 9 -> 21.

His minutes per game climbed from 17 to 22 to 33 (and 32 starts last season compared to 2 the previous two) .... although I agree that is a major jump in ppg regardless.
