**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Iowa was just playing really good ball at the right time
They actually weren't. They were extremely pedestrian down the stretch in Feb/ early March, lost to some really bad teams, and didn't do squat in their conference tournament. That's what makes their run all the more annoying, is that it pretty much came out of right field.

How foolish would TJ have looked with Rock on the bench last season. It was not like Rock torched the competition while he was at New Mexico. On the bright side he did make 23 three point baskets last season for New Mexico- a team record for a guy over 7'.
I feel like Pleta has the potential to help us get over losing Rock, even if Rock does become the next great big, but even still, would be nice to have both for the next couple years imo

Not a horrible pickup. 7’2 and as a sophomore averaged 8 pts, 9 rebounds but only shot 60% from the FT line. Does his game translate to the Big 10? We will find out.
Isn't it always a matter of projecting how a player's game translates when signing mid-major players? No different than the several mid-major players we just signed.

Get over losing Rock? Who is not over "losing" Rock?
There is some potential for any of us to feel this way, now that he's playing for a conference rival. If he continues to positively develop, I think a lot will be a little regretful he was told to/ elected to walk away from the program. Now if all he is ever going to be is the 6 and 4 guy we saw at NM last year, no biggy.

And TOE probably has their own forum (if they have figured out how to set one up).
Well now that you know we’re full you can save some of your precious time and skip this forum that’s titled spring transfer portal thread not I ONLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CYCLONE TRANSFERS.

Rock would not have seen the floor for meaningful minutes last season. The Mountain West Conference is a far cry from the Big 12.

Oregon St and NC St have had recent runs in the Tourney. They were fllukes. They continued to be trash the following year. I expect the same here.
