What’s kind of funny is Coon obviously knew Creighton had a coach in the waiting and still committed to Creighton. Then to no surprise McDermott leaves and he decommits for basically no reason. He knew he could probably get a larger NIL bag right away at Iowa and used McDermott leaving as an excuse to do so.
Coon didn’t decommit..
Then why commit to Creighton originally? I know, I know.... we were all 18 once

So what’s the point of posting if you only use pronouns responding to posts that only used pronouns. Alright I’ve given my PSA for the day. Now my two cents.
Another year of NIL v. Going in the second round. JJ had basically the same option last year. He probably would have spent a couple years in the D league. So I think the questions are before making that decision are have I reached my full potential where I’m at? Can I be better prepared somewhere else? Those two should determine stay, transfer or declare. NIL shouldn’t be the reason for staying but it does make it easier to choose what may be your best option if your best option isn’t currently the NBA.

I love Leon, however, I'm not sure he's a great personality fit at Iowa State. He's not a killer and he has the tendency to take possessions off and disappear for stretches. Fantastic talent, I'm just not sure how well that translates up. Same issue he had at Virginia.
Plus, I'll be pretty surprised if he doesn't follow Jake. They're super tight.
I was hoping for someone to chime in that follows UNI. Thanks. Hard to get a full scout from just looking at stats and watching highlights
I believe I saw in the ESPN article he's projected to be a mid 2nd round pick, so no guarantee he makes an NBA team.
Guys a great college center, but not really what the NBA is looking for. The Arizona center is more NBA prototype.
We were a much worse team in Lipsey's freshman year. Hunter had transferred, so we were pleasantly surprised with Lipsey's play. Also, Lipsey was the primary PG while Toure shared duties with Lipsey and Jefferson. It was a different situation. I love Toure, but we need more ballhandling too.
I thought since Feb. If Milan came back Batemon would avg around 13-15 ppg and if Milan goes he could be 17-20 ppg. If Toure improved offensively that might take some of that away especially if Milan is back.
If Mason Williams stays, you have him and Toure as main ballhandlers.
Looking for a big guy is a knock on Buchanan or even Pleta. Buchanan was great for what he did defensively and movement. I think the idea of a big guy is to bring someone in with strength and athleticism as protection for a center like Buchanan that is lighter and uses his athleticism to move. We need an enforcer down low whether its the 4 or the 5 for certain games.
17-20 is wildly high. Curtis Jones and Brockington are the only Cyclones to avg 17 ppg since TJ became coach.
Before that Shayok was 19ppg, SR Niang was 20ppg, and SR Ejim was 18ppg.
That's first team all big 12 numbers.
I'd be thrilled if he got to 10-12 ppg. That would be similar to Curtis Jones first year at Iowa St.
Batemon looked good when the game came to him. At times he forced the issue and it definitely showed. Hoping for a four that is a primary scorer to spread the ball around.

Wonder if Williams will stay? The latest podcast hardly mentioned him, which I probably read to much into. Mentioned all the other guards, newbies, but only passing mention of him. Guess it wouldn’t surprise me if he moved on. Assuming that is just lost rev share from last year.
If he's Scott Steiner's kid, that'd make Bron his cousin.
