Long ways out but next Wednesday the NWS has us at 74F for a high
And more rain. We're going to be mowing 2x/week until mid-august at this rate. I'm not complaining... may or may not have burned parts of my lawn with my last fertilizer application and the rain is really helping wash it away and get the yard back.

KCCI had a reporter "storm chasing" on I-235 this morning. The conditions were cloudy and it wasn't raining at all. I don't get it. Slow news morning?

Probably pursuing the 0.01” we got in Ankeny. I’m not entirely sure that wasn’t dew though. But the thunder might have led one to believe a half inch was in the cards. Didn’t happen.

Just the tip for Illinois

Shades of 1993? Last time Ankeny got 10" the entire city became an island- no way in, no way out.
In 2017 Ankeny got 8 inches of rain; that was the storm that claimed Larry Cotlar. Somehow my sump pump held up like a champ.

Tornado warning just outside mason city and one just north of dyersville

Tornado warning was just East of us in Monticello too. Down poured here hard. Rain gauge says 7 tenths but it was sideways for awhile so idk

Dubuque country is getting pounded again. They got nailed a week ago too. Too much rain!
